So I am working on my marine army (And other things) since moving back to my home town. So far I built my Devestator and Battle companies. I am using the new bases rather than the old square ones (by the way, got lotsa square base if anyone wants to trade for the new style ones  :D  ) and I have come to My deathwing Company, and i am torn, I have enough Termies to do 5 per base, but am thinking I might want to cut that down to 4, or maybe 3 so I can use them in my other armies, like Chaos...anyone got any picks of what they have done with their termies so i can get some Ideas?

yes but they are super spendy to get, living in Canada means ordering from GW is like getting raped...without even a friendly reach around.
example, 40k squad box set, US price 28 bucks, Canadian price, 55 bucks. Now this made sense when our dollar sucked, but it is trading at 92 cents and will in all probability be worth more than the US dollar by mid next years (they are predicting 1.07 or so) so that means that it should sell for about 35-40 Canadian, but apparently not. So I looked into ordering direct from GW US, well apparently even if I order direct from the GW i still pay the Canadian Price, so i still get Corn holed....hence the boycott we are trying to envoke here in Nanaimo, we want GW to change this ludicrious pricing structure that is destroying the local market and ruining my friends game shop (most of Canada's population is situated within a 20-60 min drive from the US board, so most people are going down to the USA and shopping there, and honestly you can't blame them, course it is hard to do from here as we are on an Island that cost about 100 bucks to get off and on, but you can mail order from other stores...but so far not epic, at least from what i can find). And Ebay isn't much of an option as people seem  to be willing to spend a HELL of alot more for stuff than me.

All you need is a friend that lives in the US, makes the purchase and sends them across to you.

Not sure how customs works though, but it can't be as bad as the UK customs tax. I got hit badly once when I made an order in the US from UK many years ago. I think it cost me a 3rd of the original price I paid.

I personally wouldn't base Termies less than four. Makes the base seem too unoccupied. But thinking about it, the Eldar Reapers (in 40K anyway) were a trio, and the chaos Obliterators are fielded in a trio too.

I guess its just personal preference.

I base mine 4 to a base, but that was because I only had about 17 (I think one became an inquisitor lord and the others all went and joined the deathwatch).

However I like them 4 to base. ?They feel more powerful since there are fewer of them

I prefer the look of fewer figures on deeper bases. I guess it is due to my military background, in my mind soldiers just don?t bunch up in the way they do when based for Epic. Military training teaches infantry to spread out. Not that this always happens, as peoples instinct to group up when under attack is very strong. Elite troops are less likely to bunch up and Terminators are about as elite as it gets in 40k.

Because of this I tend to base my figures 3 ? 5 per base, and the bases are oversized bases. For elite troops I use 3 and for regular troops 4, for canon fodder such as Grotz I use 5 per base. The bases I use are 2cm x 3cm, which gives me room to turn them in to mini dioramas.

Another reason I like to use fewer figures per base is because I like modelling an army that is actually in the middle of battle. I like the army to look as if it is actually fighting and this includes casualties on bases and fewer figures per base to represent combat casualties.

The only pictures I have of any figures at the moment are of the Ork army I am working on. The Ork Nobz in the picture below is how I will base my Terminators when I move on to my Marines.

( Nice work on those Terminators ragnarok ?:) )

fewer then 5 on a base generally works better on your own bases, like Ragnorok's or Turret Gunner's.  GW's bases make 3 or 4 look a bit funny.. well it does to me anyway.  the empty spaces seem a bit too uniform- just looks like you left someone out.

I love those Termies ragnarok, very sweet, and Turret Gunner, same for the Nobs and bosses, That may be the way i go, give them a real elite, kick your ass look.
Lextar, you volunteering :). Customs to canada is not that bad, provided you mark it as a gift and send it Via USPS, if it is sent via UPS or Fedex we get screwed with a brutal "brokerage fee"

Well Looks like I am going 4 for base, couldn't get the look right with only 3 on the base (but I still have a few prototype bases to try, maybe even some round bases....)
I counted out all my Marine stuff and looks like I will have enough to build the entire Dark Angel Chapter, I am talking all 1000 troops, support options, chaplins, Apothicaries, Librarians, Standard bearers, command personal etc....I will post pics as I progress thru this massive troop build up :)
