Some more interesting scenarios: Tarawa, Normandy, Okinawa, come to mind.
I can think of some neat models for the Bunkers and Barges, too.

At CONQUEST this weekend, there was a massive Tarawa game (across at least three tables all done up with beaches, bunkers, and shore defences).

I wanted to play, but we were still finishing up the Epic game when it started.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Nice.  I always look at such terrain setups with envy.  Logic and future useability has no place in my drooling :D

What scale?  One would assume a larger 1/72 or 15mm perhaps?

I think it was 1/72 or 20mm, but I don't remember for sure. I left before the minis showed up to eat lunch. I'll check the convention events catalogue later and see.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Cool.  I saw a similar Atlantic Wall game at a SALUTE in London 2 years ago...  VERY cool terrain, but I wonder if he did much gaming while it was being built? :;):

What is a Cadian Pylon?
Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Ancient alien artefacts of unknown origin or operation; they serve to keep the warp route from the Imperium into the Eye of Terror stable. ?

Thus Cadia is the only stable long term passage into/out of the EoT. ?

Thus the heavily fortified "Cadian Gate" to defend from Chaos incursions.

"Unknown Origin" = Necrons for sure, as the pylons work to keep warp off. That is why the Eye of Terror has not engulfed Cadia.

I'm VERY surprised if the pylons are explained in some other way; they literally stink of Necrophiles, erm, Necrons. ?:p

Has anybody seen the archive IG dropship from GWUS store? I swear it didn't show up in the search engine a couple of days ago.  :o

I'd seen it in while trolling through the bitz search, but not in that archive before....

Would like to see it, but all pictures on GWUS ONline store are red crosses. Kinda sucks because they have some (epic) stuff that GWUK doesn't have. Anybody have this problem too, and anybody got an idea what the solution might be?

I can see the pictures ok frater_sinister.  Just had my first look at the US archive stuff... I can't belive they made so many variants for some of the Epic40k stuff!!!  4 different hulls and 8(!?) different turrets for predators!! Plus two variants on each of the 4 sponsoons!! What an assembly line nightmare for the MO trolls

The Dropship is still in the 2003 catalogue/ listings, that I have.  As we have seen before, the on line listings are not always complete.  The Dropship is very expensive though !  Jimbo, (IIRC) had a pic ?  I have 2 models but no pics  :( !  And yes, with all the various parts for each E40K version of the Pred, Razorback, L/Russ, etc., etc., I ordered 1 or 2 of each part and all of my AFVs are different !  Cool, but kind of unnecessary ...  :D

I just get a blank page that says US Mail Order at the top, no IG Dropship title or nothing!

The Epic 40k models did have many, many variations, but I like the look of a plain tank, so that you can customise them yourself! Plus, they are quicker to paint!

Cheers

Chris

It took forever to paint all that stowage !   Again, it was nice ... but in the long run the extremely detailed models couldn't save E40K ...  :L

If anything they probably added to its demise, with all the extra work needed to make them etc.  Far better idea to do what most 1/300 companies do: hull, turret, (maybe mg).

Hmm.. no info for me either Chris... and I agree with you on the tank models point- while the E40k models were very nice, some of them seemed a little 'over the top' if you know what I mean... :;):
