In Apocalypse it has the same stats as a regular Battlecannon except that it has a 10" template instead of the usual 5" template.

As this has been gone over before, I'll keep my comments and criticisms brief.

Blarg:  I agree that your system gives a decent ballpark range, but I still think that the major error it includes is the valuation of range.  Increased range should not be a linear assessment.  It works well for the bulk of units because the bulk of units in EA are 30-45cm range and if they have multiple weapon systems, they are similar in range to each other.  Very long range weapons and units with differently ranged weapon systems wreak havoc with that linear assumption.

Most importantly in the comparisons above, a unit that has substantially different ranges like a Leman Russ or Baneblade (30cm up to 75cm), the shorter range weapons affect target choice so substantially that the longer range weapons effectively lose the full advantages of their target selection and "stay out of range" flexibility.  Using the range is an option and that option does have some value, but in most cases a sub-optimal use of the unit.

The issue of disparate ranges and the diminishing returns from very long range (due to limited LoS and likely placement of priority targets) has distorted the relative values attributed to various weapons.  Just as an example, I don't think the battle cannon on a Russ consistently does 5x the damage that the lascannon does.  3-4x seems much more reflective of in-game results from my observations (battlecannons firing 2-3x as frequently as the lascannons).

If you reduce those overcalculations due to range and compare Baneblades to Russ (comparable battlefield roles) instead of Shadowswords (radically different roles), the internal balance disparities are dramatically reduced.  Russ and Russ Demolishers are neck-and-neck.  Baneblades still need a bump, but nowhere near the radical overhaul pointed to by the unadjusted numbers.
