What up!
Anyone know the next GW game set to be released?
I mean, with everything being supported by Fanatic besides Warhammer, 40k, and LOTR, there isn't anything else out there. I know they are doing a stellar job with what is out there, but in the 1990s they had additional games popping up all over the place. Even if they were going to release a new game, I can't imagine what it would be considering they seem to have covered everything up to this point.
Plus, Epic-A is a Fanatic release, not GW... I imagine it isn't a priority for GW.

I think we've been playing that "game" for many years !

Fanatic will release a game called "pit fighter" next, or at least that's what they advertise on their website now (Fanatic website). I don't think GW will release any game other than via fanatic (which is still GW, mind you). I would have hope for a Space hulk re-appearance (or even just a re-publishing of the rule since i foolishely sold mines (SH, Deathwing, genestealer, and the campain book) many years ago and am not missing it.
Maybe after the LOTR period (after all there's only 3 movies, and after the last one i think the interest form the wider public will slowly fade out), they will want to come out with another core game. Or acquire more license about the Tolkien world to continue make more game about it.
Just my thought on the subject...

On the GW front, I guess that the next game will be:
- LotR: Return of the King -
If you count that as a 'new game'. I think that 40K 4th-Ed. will follow that next year. I doubt that there will be any core GW new games for a while.
From Fanatic, the afore mentioned:
- Pit Fighter -
Also, Mighty Empires is on the way as an expansion for Warmaster (and most likely a stand alone game as before.
Interestingly, anyone read the campaign write-up in the previous WD:UK?
It looked like a pretty much cut and paste of Mighty Empires).
Also, Man-O-War is tipped as a second expansion for Warmaster, again maybe as seperate games.
I dont think that we will see anything completely new for a while. Effort seems to be focussed on the existing games. Generally, I think that this is a good thing.
There were a load of games released over the years, and some of them were great (Advanced Space Crusade is still one of my top three GW games). But, I also remember the not-so-great ones:
- Trolls in the Pantry - Ultra Marine - Sulphur River.
Space Hulk would be great, but very unlikely. I seem to remember Jervis stating that they had actually lost the board sections somewhere!
These were really important to the game, and very expensive to put together.
I guess we could see it, but I don't think that it will be anytime soon. I love the game, I have four copies of first edition, one Deathwing, one Genestealer and one of second edition! I can put together a serious board layout!

I remember playing "Trolls in the Pantry" when I was a Cadet...
God, I'm old! ?
And Space Hulk was the first G/W game I ever bought in '89. I still have the game as well as Deathwing & Genestealer!

Space Hulk was one of my first GW games and still is great fun. I have it all still, one of the few things I never sold off when I joined up
I recall JJ said he was pretty keen to redevelop the air to air aspects and possibly redo Sulphur River. ?
Never played that one so cant really comment, but do remember not being terribly impressed with its appearance.
BTW: While we are talking of old GW products I am after a copy of the boardgame "Horus Heresy" if anyone has a spare one. Want to have a look to try and convert it into a basic epic campaign map campaign.

Hi!
Those were good games.
I used to have the Horus Heresy too and got rid of it since I hardly ever played it. It may be hard to find!

If anyone in UK (or in Europe generally, as I'm in France) would be so kind to make me a copy of the original Space Hulk and expansion game books (and maybe give me the counts of various blip number), I think I would be crazy enough to make a board from scratch.

I also have found it interesting that they have released a new Imperial Guard Codex (not just a second edition but a whole new edition) for WH40K; combine that with the rumours that WH40K 4th Edition is just a revised and updated 3rd Edition and I start to wonder why GW are doing what they're doing?
I actually like the fact that GW now has FW and Fanatic, though I do wish I could buy the stuff in the shops rather than just through mail order.

Sadly, that is proving to be the case.
How did you find the game? ?
Would it make a useful campaign tool?

Hi!
In retrospect, yes it would definately be a good campaign aid. The map is divided into regional sectors and each counter has stats for attack and defense.
The counters would make excellent markers for epic armies and the board provides suffficient geographical variability to make the campaign interesting.
