Mighty Empires tiles

I was persuaded to pick up UK White Dwarf this month, for the two Mighty Empire tiles on the cover. I know that these have been discussed in the past, but I have to admit that I like them. I think that it wont be too difficult to change them over to a 40K setting, and the fact that there enough flags included to give each base one opens up potential.

Now I just need to find some plastic rod the same diameter as the flag pegs and I can start making my own objective markers.

Even at the worst case, it wont be long before we see the mountain tile as an excellent base for an Epic flyer.

I am a MASSIVE Mighty Empries fan and can't wait to start kicking off some campaigns on it :), it works equally well for managing EPIC campaigns. Though it is somewhat less gritty and more cartoonish when you change the setting to a futuristic games set and keep the original rules more or less the same.

I really want to petition FW to create a set of resin 40K/Epic terrain pieces to add hive cities, promethium mines, air strips etc.

I bought the issue too - first one in ages - and I'm very interested in the idea (The previous campaign set and game were before my time).  Thing is, to my shame, I thought 'Warmaster' instead of 'Epic'!

But now you mention it, I'm even more interested.

Well, it just means having to buy more copies:

- One for Fantasy
- One for 40k
- One for Epic (ahh, I can already envisage a Hive City made from BFG bits...) :;): :)

Of course, if/when I do buy multiple copies, it'll be for running campaigns at the wargames centre.  Not for me to make yet more stuff out of.  Oh, no.  :confuse:  :laugh:

I've already started rolling spare putty into spikes for hive spires. :D
I've already started to think too much about it, too.  Possibilities for race-based and different types of markers are running through my head, and I have to tell myself to wait until I have the rules in my hands.

Rules? They are five pages long and even jervis refered to them as "suggestions".

Probably easier to write your own

I got 2 of the tiles with my issue of W/D ... I'm going to use them as flight bases, and some of the bitz for Epic terrain ...  :D
