Ah, I wasn't going to do it in that format - rather have four seperate files (like the IF).

So one with background and how to use list.
The list.
Then the units.
Designers notes.

This is in essence to aid updates/changes and printing. The only thing to change would be the list (oand the prometheus) the other two being fairly static. Plus I have some images which increase the size of the download. Once I get a chance I'll upload the other three and show you what I mean.

And what, you don't like the flame effect? :)

As to your unit stats, a note in the prometheus special abilities is prob worth it, and I thought we were going for CC5+ on the crusader and FF4+ on attack bike?

Anyway, when I get a chance I'll stick up those other files (as soon as they are finished!).

Well. I like to have it all in one place :D And if it will be available in the vault then it will be only one file too ;)

While the flame effect is a cool idea i thought it looked a bit strange.

Heres a reference sheet. I always seem to miss things on it, even after the umpteeth reading so anyone spot errors? News units/changed values are in italics, though i could make them in red text if thats easier.

The advantage of doing things in bits is they can then be assembled easily - plus it helps things stay 'compressed'. I do think it is useful for as little space as nessecery to be used by the various bits - or rather than each page look full (the chaops list is a good example of bad - for a gamer - layout).

Anyway all will become clear as I do each bit. Easier to do that than to explain as it were.

Salamander Devastators schoud have FF4+ not FF3+
Salamander Tacticals schould have FF5+ not FF4+
LandRaider should have: Transport (1 or 2)
LandRaider Crusader should have: Transport (2 or 3)
LanmdRauider Helios should have: Transport (1)
What is C&C for the LandRaider Prometheus?
Salamanders Dreadnought should have FF5+ not FF4+
Remove ThickRearArmour and Walker from Vindicator

I think thats all :) Good work :)

Its whatever we end up playtesting it with - as yet I've no idea so i stuck that in as a placeholder.

Dred - do you remember the disccussion about this chap? I've tried him in every salamanders game so far and really he is only worth it at 4+ - indeed I though I commented if you wanted a datafax rational say he had a melta/flamer under the powerfist. No idea where the post is, i can dig it up though.

Vindy - well what is it going to be tested with? I see it as a minor thing when I doubt more than one formation will be in use in the army, and it is gone from the upgrades.

Hm don't remember the diskussion about the Salamanders Dreadnought. Thought only the Salamanders AttackBike had its original FF value.

To me 25cmspeedis enough for the vindicator. perhabs with ignore cover base ff-attack because of its main-gun. But this is to look at the solution in the main Vindicator thread.

For now i would stick to original Codex Space Marines stats and only playtest units new to the Salamanders armylist.

If the Codex Amrines units are changed then we can change the same units in the Salamanders army too.

The dread wasn't. I tried it twice now at this - dreads are generally a curious choice for most marines and this seems to make it worthwhile. With its slow speed it can only be an air drop unit and that one use could be it for the beast. I guess I compare it mentally to the mm dev option in terms of points and effectiveness.

Striktly speaking: Yes. But then it seems to be this changes are commonly accepted by the community?

EDIT: there should be really a sticky about what is now generally accepted as changes for the Codex Space Marines armylist. For titans weapons changes too!

No one really knows I think. So far definitively titan weapons and most probably 35cm speed, 25cm speed, FF4+. Otherwise its a bit vague.

It would be VERY handy to have a definitive answer to this. Expecially because this affects all variant marine lists.

I have been a bit preoccupied but heres a draft of the units. Requires pictures and fluff - note made from the IF list I'm also writing up so some fluff not appropriate.

Also knocking up the designers notes/advice/queries/philisofy bit which has the experimental units listed under it.

Why the separate files? I am on a dial up connection (and others I know are as well), plus I don't think it will take that much effort to get the list balanced based on my games to date. So separate sections means bits that aren't going to change (fluff and how to use bit for instance) can be downloaded and printed once, plus anyone wanting to test it just needs the army list and the designers note/philisophy/new units parts.
