At the risk of being a thread nazi...

I started the thread to be informative and to document progress.  I'm perfectly willing to argue any points on other threads, but please try to keep this one reasonably on topic.

Serial it is.  From Greg:
Each of the approved rules changes will be posted as official rules changes in the rules download area on the SG Epic site.  Once we have all the rules review and any rules changes completed, I will finalize a new PDF for Andy to post.

Quick question, sorry if it is off topic. Is there any chance the rules for "Flame Template" weapons be included in the rules review as core rules? Especially since the Chaos lists inlcude units that use the flame template but no rules on how to use it.

One would assume that this definitely needs dealing with 'officially' now.

Especially, making a firm decision on whether multi-hitting is allowed if a unit is hit twice with two different flame templates fired from a single formation from a single action.

Is it hit once, or twice?

I missed this previously.

As of right now the only unit that uses a template is the GUO.  It only has one template and there can only be one on the board at a time.  It's impossible to hit something with 2 flame templates in the same action with the current official rules/lists.

It does, of course, still need to be defined.

Greg is working on the barrage rules.  He provided proposed language today.  David and I both provided feedback already.

Proposed Barrage language for comment here.

Discussion of hit allocation rules are under way.

Certainly, because I'd love to know whether my twin inferno Warhound is useless, or useful... :)

I sent two options for the Fearless/withdraw change to the ERC guys about a week ago, maybe a bit more.

The skimmer rule will be posted sometime soon, with a note from Jervis on using it reasonably, i.e. don't "gotcha" anyone, post it in the tournament rules, yada, yada.

The remaining rule changes will not be done in serial form (I had my doubts that would fly).  They will be done and released en masse in a single doc.

ERC discussion came to the conclusion that we don't want to entertain new rule ideas at this point.  If it's not already on the table, we don't want to take off on a new tangent.  The feeling is the review has taken long enough without yet more digressions.  Any further mods can wait until next time.

It was discussed just this week.  All 3 ERC members are in favor of expanding back to the original 5.  Andy had discouraged it previously and has not commented on the recent discussion.  Most likely, it will be once the Rules Review is done (which I'm continuing to push as hard as possible).

Prompted the ERC today.
I believe the following is the status for the various rule sections:

1.9.6 - Hit allocation (also 2.2.6 and 3.2.5 for MW/TK weapons) - pending text for discussion from Greg

1.9.8 - Barrages (also 2.2.6 for MW barrage) - DONE - Agreed to in email exchanges on 5/13. (David to provide list of MWBP weapons for use in the army reviews.)

1.12.5 - Resolve Assault - Agreed to in principal, pending final text.

2.1.3 - Fearless - 2 proposed versions posted to ERC boards 5/30, pending Greg's decision on which to move forward.

2.1.13 - Skimmer rules - DONE and posted to vault

4.2 - Aircraft (remain on CAP and +1 Intercept/CAP) - Proposed final language submitted to ERC on 4/20.

6.15 - Garrison - DONE

Requested the following actions:

1) Get a formal ERC vote/approval for the aircraft changes to finalize.
2) Get a formal ERC vote/approval for the Fearless rules (Greg to pick which version to work from) to finalize.
3) Discuss any needed revisions on the revised assault text so we can finalize.
4) Get the ball rolling on the hit allocation discussions.

The big issue is the Hit Allocation.  I think there's a significant split on the ERC regarding how to approach it.

Then, of course, the issue of actually creating the documents remains.  I don't think that should be difficult once the decisions are made.  It's just a fair amount of work.
