Just curious, how much does an epic Tyranid Sprue go for now?

I think I saw an ebay auction sell 2 sprues for ?21.

And I thought I was crazy paying ?7 for one.

While there's buyer ready to pay 10? for one sprue, there will be sellers ready to propose such crazy prices...

Some prices on eBay are just indecent, and even if something is really interesting me, I refuse paying such a price and playing the seller's game!

To reply to your question, I'd say about 5-6? should be high but 'correct'

Good Luck ;)

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $5 US per sprue, but I don't want them that badly.

Prices on Ebay for tyranid sprues tend to float between 8-15 pounds per sprue.

Yeah, $15 - $25USD seems to be the range.  $50USD for an old SM2 5 sprue box as a minimum.

hehe, well the "new" Chaos Sprues sell for ?12 each from GW - bless 'em!.... Older, unavailable sprues should fetch more as demand would be high for things that you can't get.

That's for two sprues though(?), so only ?6 each really.

Yeah, $11US each, though you also get 32 bases which is significant too.  I'd say closer to $8 per sprue is the benchmark, also noting the other plastics are $2 a box cheaper.

Supply and Demand.  Obviously.

Both are low, so it then goes to who has more info and sway over the other.  If you find someone who has been out of Epic since The Fall of Epic, is just looking to dump Epic stuff, and he happens to have Tyranid sprues, then your supply is relatively high.  If the other guy knows that the global supply of Tyranid sprues is the lowest compared to all of the other infantry sprues out there then he knows the supply is low.  If he also realizes that most of us Epic players will pay for somethig we don't have, yet want, then he'll squeeze you till you squeek.

No offense to anyone who has answered your question, but any monetary amounts they give are meaningless.  The market for Tyranid infantry sprues is so small, both supply and demand, that it is highly dependent upon the seller's and buyer's situations and feelings.  The price you are going to pay is going to be whatever you and the other guy negotiate such that both of you are happy.

The real question is: "What are you willing to pay?"

What you really need to tap into is all the local ex-players and people who have stopped playing Epic but still go to clubs that have epic armies just collecting dust in their cupboards and place no value on them at all.

Going by Ebay prices much of my Epic collection was gained at rediculously cheap costs but then if it had cost that much I never would hav bought it.  If you can cut out Ebay it probably works out best for you and the seller, saving a whole lot of hassle to them sorting stuff out categorizing it and selling it and saving on all the ebay/paypal fees etc.  I regularly go to 40K events and always let people know Epic is my prefered system  so I can find out if they have any of the old minis that they may be up for either getting back into the game or selling them.
