As for werther or not the seller is in the know... The models does look like very quick "industrial" paint jobs. Something like this: White spray undercoat, blue spray basecoat. Metal details, eyes and flames painted on (Rather crudely I might add) flocked the base, done.
Now of course not everybody are that grat a painter but really: If you disregard the drying time of the paint, I could paint those up in about 2 minutes! Considering that along with the quantities of stuff I just find it a bit suspicious...

I'd contact the seller. He might not know they're recasts, but I'm guessing he's fully aware of it and is trying to pass them of as originals.

Alright I finally got the last proof I need that this guy is a recaster.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0116115100

He recently bought this Mk2 Milkfloat warlord which is missing the Vortex Missile.

Now check out these current auctions:

http://cgi.ebay.com/warhamm....iewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/warhamm....iewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/warhamm....iewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/warhamm....iewItem

Although some of these auctions have variant weapon configurations and heads none of them have that elusive Vortex missile missing fron them model the guy first purchased...

There's also the purchase of a singe SG baneblade... Funny that a couple of weeks later he should sell 6 identical painted baneblades...

edit:
Same thing goes for the Mekboy Gargant: He recently boutght a NIB Mekboy gargant with all 3 arm variants. 1 month later hes selling 5 mekboy gargants with various arm configurations. many missing the spike from the top of the turret...

I'll be sending him the following mail:

Hi there.
I recently recieved the two Reaver titans you sent me. I don't mean to sound rude or anything but I might as well be frank: Upon closer inspection these look suspiciously like recasts. The casting quality is extremely poor even by FW standards, but more importantly they have resin balls caused by air bubbles in the actual moulds which no FW model has.

More interestingly I noticed that you are now selling a bunch of Mk2 Warlords all missing the Vortex missile. Looking at your feedback I can see that you have won an auction for a single Mk2 with that same problem not too long ago (I was bidding on it myself). Looks like a fun coincidence to me...

Now I have no particular problem with recasts per se as long as the quality is reasonable. However considering the relatively poor casts and the fact that you have nowhere stated that these may not be entirely original models ("These models have been remodelled and converted" is a bit far fetched for a complete and rather poor recast) I gotta say that I am not at all happy with my purchase and would like to find some way of resolving this situation in a way that we can both be happy with.

Cheers. ************

No threats about any legal proceedings and leaving him with the opportunity to explain himself and work something out... More than fair I think... ... but if he chooses to be an ass about this, I have no problem handing him over to Ebay officials and GW Lawyers... :blues:

Sounds like a very fair email, Warmaster.

Well I've got plenty of other FW things but none of the titans (which whould probably be the best basis for a comparison) But if anyone here has an unbuilt FW reaver they could snap a couple of pics of then that'd be a great help. :)

Does FW use different formulations of resin for different types of models?

The only FW stuff I've got are some of the EPIC buildings and they all seem to be of the same type of resin: kind of a light grey in colour.

Yep, they use several different types of resins.

Epic items tend to be in their high-detail cream coloured resin.

That's some good investigating, WM!

I look forward to hearing what happens with all this!

Well this is the reply I got:

"i make up and sell these models ready for people to play with straight away, hence remodelled and converted.
if the resin parts are still in good use and you dont want them then send them back and when i recive them you will recive a refund for the item"

Muchachos suspicious I say.  Id be surprised if you recieve the money for the returned model, but then I am a pesimist like that...

Perhaps a friendly email to SG wouldnt go amiss if he doesnt play ball...

You caught him, but he won't admit it. I think you should email FW and SG.
