Ok, I'd like to buy a bunch of these to use as Squat Engineers/Flamers etc, but if I understand things correctly, current EW plans are just to include a stand of these with a Droid formation.  This is to help the EW guys decide that it'd be a good idea to release the engineers in a formation of their own.

If I do a Khazari army, I'd like to do one which focuses on their being supported by loads of driods and other constructs, so I'd only use a few of the Engineers anyway; so I voted the 3rd option. :)

Those are nice, if I were a Squat player I'd yell but as I'm not I've gone for the 'Buy a few' option.

Which fits the Khazari fluff :).

I voted for Option 2. I am, slowly, building a Khazari army and I'll stick with EW fluff for them, but they are cool minins, so I might buy some for my Squats. Now that I think about it, if Marines can have Tech Marines repair vehicles, why can't Squats have Engineers fill the same battlefield role? I think I just thought a possible optional unit for NetEpic.  :p

I voted option 2, just to be safe. ?I know I'll buy several if they are made available seperately, but depending on how good they look in person or what uses I find for them, I might buy lots (we all know that lots is the more likely  :;): )

I don't like being limited to only getting a couple of specialist models or commanders in a larger set. ?They are usually the most interesting looking model and could have alot of applications besides their intended role.

Most importantly to me, I have already purchased a bunch of droids, so it would be silly for me to purchase several more sets once the engineers are released.

Edit:
I can't speak for others, but I'd be willing to pay a reasonable premium to be able to get command and specialist models seperate from their units.

This would also apply to other producers of 6mm miniatures, just in case any of them are reading this

All commanders will be available seperately, even the Praefectus Praetorian, but it's a case of do I release smaller formations of already existing models - or new models like Zombies, and floating flyers of extreme death :).

Plus time wise, we are aiming to get our army boxed sets out for pre november to clear the way for the Tarragin.

I've certainly got no problem waiting until the E/W line has filled out. ?As long as there's hope for the future. ?:D

Edit:

I don't want to have to wait for the zombies.

Well I look forward to the release of the CMD pack(s), and Zombies too !  I'll order a Droid Warhost from C/Orc (and get a team of those K/Engineers) along with Enforcer SHTs, Pret Bikers & Snipers and Gunships ! As soon as they are released !  :D

Well, the Engineers dont exist yet, and it seems EW often nicely release a new unit in a number of sizes, so the Engineers detachment blister can accompany the Droid Warhost company release :)

Oh, and Zombies are good too.  :;):

Here's the slightly delayed pic of the Engineers. I'm not sure my paint job really does them justice. These are really crisp and detailed models. Bob really outdid himself with these and I think they're easily some of the best in the Khazari range.
If Tom decides to release these seperate form the Droid swarm I think Squat fans would be very happy... :;):

I wasn't quite sure about the head dress on the two bodyguards. I painted them bald but the heads might as well be helmets. I just thought they looked more rock'n'roll this way :D
