Hehe  Well to be hones I'm still not quite happy with the paint scheme I had planned. Some more tinkering is needed I think. Although sometimes it is ust a matter of getting started and things work out by themselves.

Whew. Long time since this thread has been updated. Sorry, no pics this time but I've been paint stripping some more infantry. Also I've been tinkerng a bit with some kind of Nid titan...

Here's a WIP of the Nid titan.
I originally planned to use the Dominatrix as basis for the Hydraphant. However making a suitable Hierophant has proven somewhat difficult. I've been tinkering with a Tyranid Warrior body but it's been difficult to get it in a post similar enough to the FW version.
From the Battleforce boxed set I still had the Carifex which I've been meaning to turn into some kind of Super Bug. However right now I can't quite decide if I'm going to use it as a Hydraphant and then use my Dominatrixes as Hierophants. It would also help to increase the size gap between Herodules and Hierophants.
Still I'm probably going to continue to tinker with the Warrior body and se what I can come up with...
Originally I wanted to use the Carnifex crushing claws (as seen in te lower right of the pic) but I can't help but think that it makes it look too much like a CArnifex...
Another detail is that I've decided to leave the front carapace loose. Since the kit comes with 3 different carapaces I've converted one of them to house a Norn Queen from the Dominatrix.

Very nice, the head unit looks suitably creepy. I'm wondering whether the back legs could do with a bit more something? They look almost too delicate to me given the size of the thing.

True. I originally wanted to use those legs for my Warriorbased Hierophant so I thinned them down so they wouldn't look as bulky. I think I might add a few armourplates to the top similarly to the front leg to make it bulkier again.

The tentacles are going to be absolutely horrible to paint but they do have a suitably gibbly feel I think

Did a few adjustments to my Hierodules including converting one into a barbed hierodule.. I like the look of the scythed Hierodules better but from a games perspective to you think it'd be better to have more than one Barbed Hierodule in a formation? I'll probably build at least one more Hierodule but I need to figure out if I want to make a barbed or scythed one...
