I think they are improving in casting techniques. The horses & trenches are well done.

There is a lengthy discussion on Warseer about the FW open day. The general result is...

- Imperial Armour books are titled this for a reason, all the FW books will have the Imperials against another force. So, we can expect that deluge of Imperial equipment to continue.

Overall, I cant say that I am particularly excited by the various FW stuff right now. The AI Chaos stuff is very nice, but has got me thinking that I could cut plasticard and make my own variants - not as good, but unique. I am underawed by the Chaos Daemon Engine based on the old Knight. The new Rough Riders, however, are really nice, and I really want the Gorgon in 6mm!

FW stuff is definately improving, although they do occasionally still seem to have casting problems - the Kor'vesh Tau ships in particular. I recieved one which looked like it had been melted slightly.
Nonetheless, lots of good stuff from the FW fevered imagination. The Death Riders are excellent - I remember seeing a picture of something similar on Warseer, not sure if it was connected though.
I wish they'd make something new for Necrons though, the metal chaps have been a bit neglected for some time now.
Not convinced by the trenches though, I've made some comparable examples with modular terrain tiles which were a fraction of the likely cost.

Indicative of a casting removed from its mold too quickly.

And I pine for Necrons as well. Here's something I'm hoping to see: just as Necrons are purposefully built to look like humanoid skeletons, how about non-humanoid skeletons? Like a horse-head looking thingy.

This one looks to me like it would tip over backwards if it tried to crest a berm.  They really should have centered the hull over the tracks better.

Yeah, it does look a little funny. Must have a small engine compartment.

Hey, interesting food for Necron thought - they are a bit humanised right enough. Since they're meant to go around harvesting the younger races, you'd think they'd have got around to assimilating some of the wierder looking races by now, they have had several tens of millions of years after all.
I rather hoped for some new kind of vehicle, maybe something a bit smaller than a Monolith (and cheaper points wise). I thought about having a stab at building something, I'd probably call it an Obelisk or something, but like so many other things I think of they never quite happen. I reckon I've got some kind of games-related ADHD....

Yes very bad positioning there.
