I suggest
Commissars. Its a bugger to paint them on, especially random ones. Far better is to have
Your army may contain 1 commissar for every 450 points in your army (round up).
This gives 7 at 3000 points, 6 at 2700 etc. A lot better, main list should have this.

Indeed any other suggestions in this page for the units replicated in this list :)

This list may require some rethinking - by I am sure E&C knows this since he went to FW Day!  There are some very interesting 'big' tanks that would be cool to include and start to 'drop' the 'lighter' mtbs.

Okay news from the open day!

Some things to be drawn from their 40k rules;

- The Death Korps are specifically allowed all four Super Heavy Tanks (Sorry Hena!) :)

- Death Rider HQ squads are allowed (Ie: Death Rider armies in 40k, ie: Death Rider Companies are justified).

- They have a new Heavy MBT (As I expected would happen), called the 'Macharius'. It's DC-2, the armour save profile of a Leman Russ, and has some cool weapons options that I'll deal with below.

- The Super-Heavy Siege Mortar Carrier (Gorgon hulled) has not materialised. I'm tempted to keep it in the army list even so.

- I didn't see whether or not the Death Korps get snipers (Curses! Was too busy checking out all the cool new stuff that I forgot to check!)

- The Death Korps have a *very* wide selection of Leman Russ MBT's to choose from.

More to come as I remember it. :)

The Macharius Heavy MBT.

Proposed stats:

4+ RA Save.
3+ Firefight
6+ Close Combat
Speed 15cm
Damage Capacity - 2

2x Battle Cannon   AP4+ / AT4+  75cm
2x Heavy Bolter   AP5+   30cm
Twin Heavy Stubber AP5+    30cm
Heavy Stubber     AP6+      30cm

Command Macharius upgrade:

Replace Battle Cannons with Vanquisher Cannons.
Replace Heavy Bolters with Lascannons.

I'm thinking, support formation of 3, including 1 command Macharius?

Ideas on cost?

Look here for new DCoK vehicles from Forgeworld:

http://www.sphaerentor.com/wh40k/index. ... hp&id=1878

Macharius has DC"? From the picture i would say it is LemanRuss sized. So not a WE but a AV.

So from the picture:
4+ RA Save.
3+ Firefight
6+ Close Combat
Speed 15cm

Demolisher Cannon   AP3+ / AT4+  30cm IgnoreCover
5 x Heavy Bolter   AP5+   30cm
2 x Lascannon AT5+ 45cm

So for the Macharius why not Twin Battlecannon 75cm AP3+/AT3+?

Because it's specifically not a twin-linked battle cannon in 40k, it's two seperate battle cannons.

Essentially, that means three Macharius tanks will put out exactly as many AT shots as a 6-tank Death Korps Leman Russ squadron.

'cept they have a vanquisher upgrade available too. :)

We don't really have a hull available I reckon... it's a bit bigger than a Ragnarok.

Two separate battl?e cannons? Strange, because there is no way to move the two barrels separately. Not even vertically.
Hmm and i don't like the look of the tank. Looks like it would tip over backwards every moment :-D

I think we may be headed down a route we went away from once before... make the Krieg have nearly everything.  We need to decide what direction it is going to go...  It is not the armored regiment list.

It's not an armoured regiment, but that doesn't mean the Krieg don't have a very heavy emphasis on tanks, moreso than the steel legion in certain regards.

This is the krieg:

- Massed infantry formations that use super-heavy Gorgons
- Cavalry
- Tanks (Lots of them, of all sizes from Centaurs to Macharii)
- Super-heavy tanks
- Static artillery

Looks like SteelLegion with
- bigger Infantry formations
- bigger Cavalry formations
- Gorgons instead of Chimaeras
- more diversity in tanks in all sizes.
- static artillery

Yep, both Basilisk & oddly, Medusa static artillery (Practically impossible to represent in Epic I think).
