Isn't the landing craft in the optionals books?

In fact, check the optionals book for most of the units mentioned, just in case they are there.

None of these units appear in the Optionals book

so we will need to come up with some stats

We would also need points cost.  Are we looking at adding new stuff (as opposed to accidentally ommitted stuff) as part of the Errata process?  Should that be covered by the Gold version developers?

Helios stats easy...standard LR + additional attack using the Whirlwind stats.  Detachment cost....450 points (combines LR and WW + 50 point penalty for saving a slot)....or something like that.

Dropship - same stats as the T-Hawk but without the Battlecannon and PD(9).  Able to transport 2 detachments of Marines including their vehicles (to a total of 18 and a maximum of 6 vehicles).  Cost....300?

Just use the old bike dude as a standard Bike Co. command unit.

I made some experimental stats for Land Raider Helios and Prometheus as well as Damocles Rhino for Incoming! #21. As usual, I didn't get any playtesting data so I have no idea if they are balanced or not.

If we are talking about omitted units then those go into the corresponding books.

If you wish to add new units, you can do so, but they go in the optionals book.

For the Helios, look over Mojarn's stuff when you get it.

As for the SM veteran bike, like I mentioned, use the standard bike stats, raise CAF to +4 or +5 and the cost per detachment by 50 points (1 more VP).

Zap's dropship idea is good, use that. Place the price at 250 though.

The suggested Landing Craft sounds good.  But can we make super-heavy, or have 2 shields?  It's alot of units to lose if a single AA shot can bring it down.

Also, I did notice there are optional rules in a .doc file on the Yahoo site (in the root directory) for the Landing Craft.  It descibes it as E:A landing craft, but the rules are for NetEpic.
It has hit location templates, and probably a few too many rules (or too much fluff at least).  Don't know if anyone's used it.  If it's going to be preatorian class I guess it could do with quite a bit of discussion and trial before being used, so probably not worth worring about for the errata.

Really would like it to be 'superheavy' though, even with the 3+ save.  The size must make it worth.

I agree, superheavy, give it the two shields and raise cost to 300.

Hey guys, the landing craft rules were mine.  I posted them up there ages ago for comment and didn't get anything back.  Could do with some rationalisation though as I brain dumped it.  Was based on the assault craft and titan delivery transports.

Looking at the size of the landing craft for E:A it is much bigger than "super-heavy" size.  It's wider than and longer than most praetorians. With it's tail fin it's actually taller than most as well.

If you review the E:A rulebook it's not that well armed however just lascannons (they look like battle cannons though)  and heavy bolters.  I was aiming at creating something a bit better than the thunderhawk weapons wise but nothing to over powering.

It certainly does seem preatorian sized.  I think we were just hoping to fit it quickly into the rules.

I thought your rules were pretty good.  A few thoughts:
I don't think the AA snap fire rule is needed, as it's +1 to hit Preatorians anyway;  
Saves seem a bit strong for a flyer;
Transport- maybe too much capacity, but I like the idea of taking Bikes or Landspeeders (I'd go upto 4 landraiders, or six rhinos and trrops as zap said, plus options for some bikes/speeders/dreads);
Melta-bombs are fun looking  :D  .But drop them and 2 lascannon shots if you want to bring closer to EA stats (I wouldn't change them much myself);
Otherwise it's just a little word heavy.

Have you play-tested it?  do you have a clearer idea of what it should be?  Or do you want to leave it till v6?

It's a new model made to the new "big 8mm" scale isn't it?  I'd stick to superheavy, 2 shields, minimal armament.  It's job is to drop to the ground and release troops, not be a gunship/bomber.  2 lascannon and some PD at most.  No bombs.

The stripped down version is good, but include Enderel's idea in the optionals book.

My philosophy this time around is to get EVERYTHING in, mostly as optional of course, but to get it in. Over the year we lost way too much data in the backburner. Not this time. :)

I know this thread been away a while, but checking through Ulmo's army cards brought up a few more errors.  Not sure about the 4th- please comment.

1.  contents for White Scars Veteran Bike Company p31 should read 'Veteran Attack Bike squads', the same for the White Scars Battle company.  Unless the support card was supposed to be vet bikes, and they were just missed in the unit summary. Actually no-one else is listed as using Vet attack bikes, so it must be theirs.

2.  Dark Angels Veteran Landspeeders are missing from the unit summary.  Description says they should be Landspeeders with a fixed save and elite.

3.  Hatamoto Company is listed as 850 pt, 13 VPs.  Should be 9 VP's.

4.  should Desert Lions have higher break point?  Assuming normal Robots are reverted to their old break point of 4 then this company should be break point of 12. Though it has a HQ unit to muddy the water.
