Well unfortunately I didn't get any painting done today either as I have a load of stuff to read for tomorrow. :(
I did however make the Carnifex conversion suggested by Illuvitar and I gotta say it looks a lot better than the original! Furthermore I spary undercoated the first Biotitan and the Haruspex. I still haven't quite decided if I should use the Dominatrix conversion as a Hierophant or a Hydraphant/Dominatrix. I'm not really in the mood to spend huge ammounts of money hunting down the titans on Ebay. Either I will use the titan as a Hierophant and use the Carnifex as Hydraphant/Dominatrix or I will make a conversion based on the Tyranid warrior and call that a Hierophant and then use the Dominatrix conversion as Hydraphant/Dominatrix.
If I choose the latter then I just need to buy a single box of Warriors to make a single Barbed Hierodule and two Hierophants. The Carnifex I already got will then simply become some weird gigantic mutant special character titan like the Red Queen.

Oh yeah: And I also made a couple of Meoiotic Spore mines from regular Spore mines.

BTW the more I've been looking at the Dominatrix/Biotitan the more I'm starting to think I might have to do something about the rear legs. I think I might replace the lowest part with some ind of scythe to raise it a bit and make the legs look longer.

Yeah, I think you're right, it looks slightly deformed somehow...

How about trying the Scything Talons from the Warriors' sprue?  There's a larger set on the Warriors upgrade sprue too.

The large Warrior talons are too big IMO. Besides I'm going to need them for the Hierophant conversions :D The Regular Warrior talons are closer. However I think I might want to reserve those for Hierophants as well. (which will be based on the Tyranid Warrior body)
The best solution I think is to carve new ones from plastic. That way I can get ones in exactly the right size and pose (and since I only need to make 2-3 pairs it is not an impossible task).
I'm thinking they need to be relatively short and broad. After all they're not meant to be weapons in the same way as the front legs.

The major problem is that the hind legs are so close together. I'm thinking that adding them in a low angle and pointing outwards might help but that will also require a bit more greenstuff work. Again stability is an issue: Mich greenstuff and plasticard with metal on top might break easily on the tabletop so I need to build it in a way that transfers the weight of the body into the leg as vertically s possible.
I guess it makes more sense just to show it rather than try to explain it. ?:D


Oh and about "How to's": Once the project is finished I'm probably going to turn it into an article for Incoming. Might be easier to find rather than a thread spread across dozens of pages :;):

40k ravener talons have many nice sized talons... Biggest ones could fit for dominatrix.
But making your own ain't too hard task. :D

WIP Malefactor.

The head is from the old metal Rippers.
BTW as you can see the crunchy claws are nicely painted. I got an ebay deal for some very well painted Nids which included two Malefactors. I need 3 pair of claws for my conversions but if someone wants to trade two nicely painted Malefactors for 3 sets of claws I'd be very interested. I also have a few other units from the deal I'll consider selling but I need to figure out exacly what things I need first. Preferabld I'd sell it as a single batch.

PS: The nid stuff is painted by Innerspin in case someone knows who that is :;):
