...maybe 12stormtoopers&commander+gorgon trasports(7) as one company?...
those would make great addition to Armd.regiment.

I'm not sure whether Gorgons fit with the theme of an armoured regiment... they're only intended for short-distance attacks.

However I don't like this selectable commander for IG. Because of that I'd make a separate Super-Heavy HQ Company for it.

Seeing as how quite literally everyone wants to have their SC in a different formation, I'm staying with the historical influence (Commanders have been known to use all sorts of idiosyncratic vehicles as their own personal war wagon).

So the Commander's Choice of having the SC wherever you want him stays.

For the record, if it was to be a set formation, I don't see the SC as being in a Super-Heavy Tank (It's not likely to have the best communications rig and it's also going to be the single-biggest target on the battlefield). On fluff grounds he'd probably go in a Salamander Command Vehicle, or a Chimera with Enhanced Communications of some sort.

But like I say, the Commander's Choice seems to be the most authentic to the background (Which is basically just the Western armies of the last century in space!). :D

I really like the list so far.  I haven't had a chance to compare, but did you parallel the Elysian stats & price on the aircraft (Lightnings and such) so that there is consistency between one list and another?  Just curious.

I too think a large infantry formation wouldn't fit well into the list.  The focus should be on armor, not on troops.  Not that the idea wouldn't fit well elsewhere...

The shortage of cheap infantry formations IMO will make for some tough choices when you are constructing a Tallarn list.  This is a GOOD thing, since it has more flexibility built in, in terms of the choices of tanks, things like that.

The fast attack formation isn't a bad idea.  I'd like to see it in detail.

Yes, the stats & points are the same.

I agreed, taking Infantry formations should be a hard choice to make (Do I take some infantry, or more anti-aircraft? Or perhaps I need a Super-Heavy tank? etc.), and they certainly shouldn't be a mainstay choice.

FYI Your blasted Tallarns are costing me a lot of money!

I just spent a ridiculous amount of money at the FW website to buy more IG for my ridiculously priced IG order from SG.

Curse you, E&C!!

Slightly off topic, but what about color schemes.  Any thoughts on the Tallarns?  Desert camo seems to come to mind, but I don't want to assume either.

Well I have more than one motivation...  Since the Tallarns and Dark Eldar and Necron will probably be coming together in a single supplement, I'd like to have all three armies available for snapping pictures.  It is a big project, but one that will be thoroughly enjoyable. :)

The Tallarn are G/W's version of Desert Troops ... so ... desert colors or camo would be appropriate ... but DWWFY ...  Most AFVs in desert conditions are just a shade of tan, but the addition of spots, lines, etc., are fine too !  I plan on doing most of my F/W IG in desert colors ...  :)

While the Tallarns are a desert fighting army (And deserts are also about the most perfect tank-combat environment I can think of), you can obviously call your tank army anything you like, with any colourscheme you like!

For an 'official' Tallarn colourscheme, L4's pretty much on the money, and GW's Tallarn tanks are pretty much all like that.

And I'll toss another idea for company.

Heavy Scout Company/ 1 Salamander Command Vehicle, 6 Salamander Scout Vehicles, 3 Griffons/ 300 points

Edit: or Fast Attack Company.

Woah, just noticed that Griffons aren't in the list for some reason!

My first instinct to bring them in is to add them to the 'self propelled artillery platoon' Support Formation choice.

As to a Scout Company formation, I'm not so sure that that'd fit... historically Scouting formations are small detachments... while there may well be an Organizational Scout Company to which all the Salamanders (etc) are attached to within the Force Organisation, operationally they'd be split into small Scout Platoons (As is already in the list).

In general, Epic army lists reflect Operational deployments (Ie: what types of formations are actually used in battle situations), not Force Organisation charts (Which are great for paperwork, but if you tried to fight a battle with those formations you'd quickly lose as you'd be too cumbersome... having all your scouts moving about in one formation is perhaps an example of this).

So for this reason I'm hesitant to introduce a Scout Company, unless there are some good arguments for such an addition to the list.

Excellent E&C !  That Basy reminds me of an M109A6 or that new Bundeswehr Panzerhaubitze 2000 IIRC ... And the insignia on the turret is from my old future Rgt - Hammer's Slammers !  Note my Av and the crest on the turret !  :D    Yes, if you watch the news ... and based of my 3 trips to the desert, most armies just paint their AFVs all tan/panzer yellow/ochre/etc.  :)
