I do hope it's not too far from me. I'm dying to see the Primarchload in person.  :D

Ok, remember what we agreed. You put a sack over him and I tie the rope. Then we get off with the loot. Have you got the Chinook ready?    :p

Hi!

I have new dish on SG.

*Caveat*  These are rumors as I don't have confirmation on them.*  However, they come from a source I trust.  All the details given to me are consistent with  typical GW business decisions and none of them contradict anything I've seen from other wources.

SG has been slashed to only producing things already on the calendar through the Fall release.  Nothing new will be produced until budgetary and other issues have been resolved with GW proper.

GW's cash flow is tied up with a project to re-brand Citadel products.  GW honchos apparently decided that there were too many companies out there making money off of GW's coattails.  They believe they can release better and cheaper (hah!) products than those companies.  The plan is to release a new and improved line of Citadel modeling equipment (tools, brushes, paints, etc), as well as projects like the new modular game board and plastic buildings for WFB.

The funds have been dedicated to that.  Until the return revenue from those efforts come on line the company has pulled support from basically everything except 40K and WFB.  They don't have the money to pursue development on any of the less profitable lines until the re-branding project begins to generate returns.

===

Does any of that contradict anything anyone else has heard?  Because to me it sounds dead up like typical thinking for GW's management and fits with everything I've seen.

Thanks for the update, Neal.

Sounds like this will basically eliminate any chance of Tyranid infantry being re-released in 2008.

At least, from this, it doesn't sound like they'll stop producing the current line, which is very good.

Thanks for the news Neal.

Did anybody expect the Nids to be out next spring? or even the 'lost :glare: ' chaos vehicles?

hopefully the existing range will still be produced and Andy will continue to sporadically update the PDFs

What does SG have on the fall calendar? Battlefleet Mars and that's it?

GW's cash flow is tied up with a project to re-brand Citadel products.  GW honchos apparently decided that there were too many companies out there making money off of GW's coattails.  They believe they can release better and cheaper (hah!) products than those companies.  The plan is to release a new and improved line of Citadel modeling equipment (tools, brushes, paints, etc), as well as projects like the new modular game board and plastic buildings for WFB.

This certainly rings true, GW are putting massive investment into new plastic terrain pieces right now, and they're also releasing a new range of paints.

I've not heard news on brushes or tools though.

The funds have been dedicated to that.  Until the return revenue from those efforts come on line the company has pulled support from basically everything except 40K and WFB.  They don't have the money to pursue development on any of the less profitable lines until the re-branding project begins to generate returns.

Note that 80% of these new plastic buildings are Warhammer Fantasy-specific. 40k had their own plastic building releases last year (Though they may get more in time of course).

Does any of that contradict anything anyone else has heard?  Because to me it sounds dead up like typical thinking for GW's management and fits with everything I've seen.

No conflict, but I'm hoping to get some detail on SG's status soonish.

As far as I know, that's correct but I don't pay close attention to the non-Epic lines.

That basically means no more Epic releases of any kind until/unless a new GW reorg comes down the pike.
