The big box of Nids arrived today. Man that Carifex is huge! :O Maybe even too big since I plan to make my Hydraphant and Dominatrix based on the Dominatrix body. It seems a bit odd that the Hierophant should be that much bigger... Hmmm.. Maybe I'll just save the bitz for some special project like the Red Queen.

Here's a WIP of my Carnifex. Not perfect but still closer to the 40k versio than the original.

Great conversion!  That uses a Hive Tyrant rather than a 'Fex, right? ???

Yup that's a Hive Tyrant. They seem to be easier to come by than Carnifexes. Probably because people need less Tyrants than regular brood creatures. I'm going to build two for starters. They requite some scyting talons though so they're a bit expensive to make bitz-wise though.

Currently the Norn Queen is spawning a number of creatures on my workbench. A Harridan is nearing completion; I'll have a pic ready tomorrow. Also I've got a Trygon and a Hierodule in the works.

Speaking of the Hierodule: I've been searching this and the SG forum for pics of the first guy who did Hierodules from 40k models. I just can't remember the name. I do remember that the Nids were painted red with bone white plates though. If someone got some pics or a link to the thread could they please post it here?

Here's a bunch of WIP pics:

Harridan, Dominatrix/Hydraphant, Hierodule, Haruspex (Still haven't decided if Iwant to use these claws) and Malanthrope.

Cool! The haruspex still looks a bit too much like a normal gaunt for my liking though... that body and legs are really distinctive in that pose - may just be that I'm used to the model from my 40k nids though. I'm not sure. Is that a Lictor head you have used?

I've been searching this and the SG forum for pics of the first guy who did Hierodules from 40k models.

I feel so unloved... :p

Carnifex: Nice work!

Rest of 'em: Nice work! :D ?I especially like what you've done with the harridan and dom/phant. ?I have to admit I'm a little thrown by the haruspex too, though. ?But mostly because of the surprise of seeing the old lictor head on there.
Not the best nid mini GW ever produced.  But I don't want to say too much in case you prefer that head...

Hehe. No worries. :D I'm a bit two ways on the Haruspex myself. I want a different style than the old slug tank look but I agree that the way it looks right now is a bit close to regular 40k gaunts. I did cosider shortening the limbs to make it look heavier but I wanted to be completely sure before destabilizing the mini (as it is right now it is a fairly quick conversion). The big problem I think is the claws. They might have to be replaced with something bigger because at the moment they look much too light or flexible for a creature that size.
