That's some good work there, Lou. (Obligatory Simpsons reference).

"Bake him away, toys... I mean, take him away, boys!"

I think we're referencing the same Simpsons character, Otterman, but I must confess my Simpsons-fu is weak, having not really watched many episodes for nearly a year...

Anyway, back on topic, thanks to everyone for your positive comments!

I'd hoped to finish the Rhinos this weeka d post pics, but I realised Monday evening when I sat down to finish them that I needed to do some sculpting on them (for Combi-bolters) - but I have packed my Green Stuff...  ???  :(   So they'll have to wait until I get to France...

In the meantime though I thought I'd post WIP pics of Ferrus Eternum, to provide a better opportunity to 'bit spot'.

BTW the offer of a 'making of' article for Incoming! still stands...  :;):  :)

Ah! We must train our Simpsons-fu in the tradition of our ancestors!

I really like the clever bitz usage. Is that a 28mm terminator assault cannon on there?

Close, Otterman - it's from the Plastic Dreadnought.  :)

I'm sure you, of all people, would be able to turn one in to many... :;):

Anyway, I now have a slight dilemma regarding this army - it's not a bad dilemma to have, actually!

This week I may have the opportunity to get some Hell Talons & Hell Blades for this army direct from Forge World (if they're in stock!).

I'm not bothered about paying for these if I'm honest. ?Yet I've started thinking about scratch-building some - ?I already have an idea of basing them on the 8-pointed star of Chaos... unfortunately I can't start work in these until I get to France as most of my bits boxes are packed for the move ??? :glare:

So, anyway, what's people's suggestions on here? ?Scratch-build, or buy? ?(Note: Vanvlak, I think you may be excempt from this vote as I already have a feeling which one you'd go for... )

Forge world's models are beautiful. But making your own gives good feeling to you armies.. And you are so talented with constructing stuff and with GS, so I vote for making your own!

BOTH!!!

Buy some, and mix in your own variants. Twice the minis, plus your own can be in theme with the FW ones as well.

awesome work.  I was wondering - is the old school titan component some sort of green stuff copy?  If so, how is it done?  Sorta like traditional GS casting, only on a larger scale?

Thanks Deacon! :)  The old Titan parts are, in fact actual old Titan parts :D which I salvaged from various Epic bits I've got from eBay over the last few years.  It was painted in that strange greeny camo pattern, but I decided to use it anyway; I figured that I was going to be putting so much stuff on it anyway the fact it would have been patined on at least 3 times wouldn't be noticable!

Anyway, thanks to C/S, D/S and Charad for the suggestions about the Aircraft.

Basically, i'm still in a little bit of a quandry: as of yesterday, I'd decided to go along the lines of C/S's advice, buy a pack of three Hellblades (the little 'uns), and base the Hell talon bomber conversion I have in mind on them.

However, I'm beginning to wonder whether I might as well just do them all from scratch.  I want to support F/W's Epic stuff - after all, I've added my name to the F/W petition on this forum - but, for the same price of buying all the aircraft I plan to use in this army, I can get 3 of the Epic Chaos sets from GW.  And after all our complaints about GW not supporting Epic, now they are releasing some Epic stuff, I want to support that in the hope they'll see how much support there is for Epic and carry on releasing stuff for it.

I'll see how I go towards the end of this week, when I visit Warhammer World and order some F/W stuff.  I figure if I buy one set of Hellblades, I can see how I get on with them.  On the other hand, they may be out of stock, which will make my decision easier!

Thanks for reading this rambling whine... last one I promise!

Thanks! :)  Yep, there are one or two necron parts on there...  :blues:

Anyhoo, not much to report on the Iron Warriors front, this last week I just assembled the hulls of the other two Super-Basilisk thingies.  Can't do the guns as my 40k Chaos bits box is packed ready for our much delayed move...  :glare:

However, I've drawn up an incredibly poor picture of my concept for scratch-built Chaos aircraft.  My concept is that seeing as most Imperial aircraft feature a Swept-Foward wing design which evokes the Aquilla - symbol of the Imperium - I figured Chaos aircraft would evoke the 8-pointed star of Chaos.  If that makes sense :)

Anyway, here's the first pic which is a top view.  As this was done using the full extent of my computer graphic design skills (i.e. those that don't exist!), it is very basic, but my intention is that it will look more angular, spikey, and - well! -Chaotic.

(1) is the front wings, (2) are going to be where the bombs/weapons are mounted, and (3) are the tail fins.
