As a war engine it can be targetted freely if it has any non-war engine broods.  Without any kind of shielding, it's easy pickings for any TK weapons that might be around.  If it's hanging back to spawn, it's not doing any damage to the enemy.  If it's up close, there's a 1-in-3 chance it completely fails to spawn.

The Dom is the local Queen of the swarm, why shouldn't she be able to spawn a lot?

I've tried the Hierodule shield for the Dominatrix... it still dies the moment I move it in close...

I play a lot against Eldar however, and they can manuever around its shield and hit the Dominatrix as the closest target with their Lance weapons.

It just hits the floor in every game. :)

The enemy doesn't just need TK to deal with it, they just need to put a lot of AT fire on the formation, almost like stripping shields against a Gargant/Titan; once one is dead, then they can move to fire directly on the Dom.

And I think Hierodules/Trygons should be increased in points, so that would make the practice even more costly.

i'm the eldar player E&C is talking about, the problem with the  Dominatrix as i see it is it's a very juicy target, when your faceing nids, because it's alot of points in one place and  if you have any kind of TK weapons its easy meat compared to Hive Tyrant and a big swarm, when playing a very mobile army like Eldar
