Looks great WMN ! Those Rhino "Turrets" do look like naval gun turrets on the Kriegsmarine Bismarck or Tirpitz !

More detal work done. The upper part is almost complete Just waiting for a set of those FW brass etched Imperial eagles to arrive for extra decoration. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for that "Heureka- moment with the feet...

Detailing of the major armor plates is complete. Now I just need to finish off the turrets where I'm going to add some elavation mechanism of sorts amd also add some texture to the top.

For the sake of completion I temporarily borrowed a set pf Lasers from another kit...

That's really shaping up nicely. I'm not sure the turrets need to have visible lifting mechanisms. After all, you don't see them on a battleship's turrets.

Thanks all. I must admit that this has turned out much better than I'd dared hope for. The armor plating in particular was daunting at first but after I got the hang of making them things went smoothly. Although it has been hours of concentrated work I am very happy with the result so far. Now let's just hope I don't screw it up when spray undercoating the thing, drops it in front of an elephant parade or something like that...

The plating is great, very eye catching.

What was the general technique? Scribe off the appropriate size plastic and use a square file to make the 'notches'?

First I built the basic armor from 1mm plasticard. Step two is then making a second set of armor from much thinner plasticard (probably 0.25mm) and then make the panels this way. Finaly minor errors were scraped or greenstuffed for a smooth seamless finish.
