Saints & Martyrs ! I turned 50 on 21 Dec.06

Phew....thought I was going to take the prize.  41, proud owner of a goatee for the last 10 or so of them, and I think I've played everything that GW has done except Car Wars and LoTR at least once.  AT was my second miniatures game after trying 1/300th moderns using the Challenger rules (urggh).  Old, but not so bitter......stopped hating GW a long time ago and just learned to largely ignore them :)

Despite selling off everything GW except Epic and Bloodbowl, still maintain extensive miniature collections for Full Thrust, Star Grunt, Dirtside, Clan War, Babylon 5 Wars, Silent Death, Ogre, Battletech, Mechwarrior, Pirates and probably some I've forgotten.........sigh.

Close Orange ... I was an ROTC Cadet from '75-'79, then went on active duty.  In Jan of '80 after Infantry Officer training in the fall of '79, I was assigned to the 101 ... 3 days after reporting in, I was on my way to Central America. No need to wait, right off to the Front !  And Happy about it !!!  Was not smart enough to go to West Point, at that time, around 70% of the Army Officers were ROTC. It was an Easy and Cheap way to produce the number of Officers needed for an Army of something like 700,000 + ...  Vietnam had ended in '73 but the Cold War raged ...  And I got to see it from a UH1H and M113, when we were not walking/running/jumping, etc. !  :)  My biggest disappointment in my life (so far ?!) is that I couldn't make it 20+ years to get retirement ...  But after serving in 4 Inf Bns in 10 years, I'm sure, my luck might have run out !  LOL !  Before I hit the Magic 20 Years !  But the Cold War was over and the Politicians and retiring Generals had to show the Country that we had a "Peace Dividend" ... Save $$$ ....  Hmmm ... amazingly they must not have been watching the History Channel  ?   The 1st Gulf War in '90, Somalia, in '93 ... and the first overt shots of the new War ...    Sorry to ramble boys, forgive an "alter Kampfer" !  It's my Meds !!!!  LOL !!  :D

And yet another 33 year old here...havent wargamed nearly as long as some of you... but I feel grognardy at heart!  I got in right at the end of the E40k era (why o why didnt I buy more sprues at $3 apiece when I could?  $#%%@#$!@#$)
Oh, and guys, buying the house is not stressfull at all.  Its making the mortgage payment when you have to have the furnace/stove/hotwaterheater/toliet/yougetthepoint fixed at the same time as fixing that fracking leak in the roof/floor/basement and running the kids to the doctor.   THAT will turn your hair grey.  Quickly.  :p

Having a high maintenance newborn and an unfaithful spouse, topped off with a big house can really cause the stress.

But now my newborn is a precocious 2.75 year old, my spouse is in exile and replaced by a Cambodian hotty, and my apartment places me a mere 1.5 m / 2 km from work.

Welcome, my long lost twin brother.

Thanks. It's nice to be home.  :)

Oh, as for beard, I started in the cardboard age too (got to love those old Avalon Hill games), although up here it was later than in the wide world I guess. Still, you guys had it easy. I had to learn English before I could start. That's why I was 16 already.

Don't feel so bad, L4. I'm pretty sure Gary Clarke is older than you.

With ex-green chiming in, it now looks like I'm the fourth oldest here.  :)
