OK fellas, I've got a bunch of DE infantry and Avs ready for painting. The trouble is Charad has already used the classic deep purple colour scheme, and I'm not going to just copy him directly, so I just don't know what colours to use. Any suggestions form the peanut gallery? I was thinking a deep red with some silver/gun metal accents. Deep green is an option as well, but I'm kind of sick of painting that from working on the Necrons.

I just don't know.

Red for the blood they harvest... silver for the razors they use to do it...

Or just go with colours you haven't used for any of your other armies...

Wow! That looks cool, but I'd go nuts trying to paint that on 60+ warriors! Something close to that might be doable though...

So dark red seems to be winning, any other opinions?

You wouldnt have to do all those golden detail of course, especially in Epic models. You simply add dark green cloaks/plumes and then if there are details you do them in gold. Perhaps use golden weapons instead of silver. Look at how some of the 40k models were done.

Deep red suits DE very good and it looks great and striking when ready.
What about scab red base, then thinned black ink over and blood red highlights? then lots of silver and bleached bone for details?

Most of us are headed for a padded room ... working on 6mm Sci-fi and trying to get the level detail, like we see here and else where on this site ... We B all Crazy ! :D
