Has anyone considered giving the SK an Infiltrate move? I'm not sure it'd work well as it'd allow a lot more garrisoning to go on... But infiltrate seems appropriate otherwise. They don't strike me as something all that fast normally, but when driven into close combat they always seemed like they should move in great leaps and bounds, over virtually anything in their way. But then I have all of no experience playing as or against 'nids, personally.

Hena -

I for one am more than happy to have changes and tweaks to be made for gaming reasons rather than fluff. I always prefer balanced games.

The suggestion about spores is interesting (<30cm) although I don't honestly think its needed. Spawning is just about there in terms of the amount you get back and we are seeing more and more games where the endless stream of tooth and claw is reduced to a pitiful trickle.

It strikes me that the Dominatrix is the major debating point. I like all your other suggestions (especially the Venomfex). Do you still think the Hiero should cost just 250?

Hena - personally I don't have a problem with the Tyrant's current spawning rates, in fact our IG player commented just last week that he wonders if the spawning has been clipped too much overall.

Bear in mind that once battle is joined, only the swarms that are supporting (Dactylis etc) are going to get the +d3 for over 30cm whereas most others are going to find at least one brood within that 30cm range to the enemy - which brings with it the -1 to try to spawn in the first place (as per a rally test).

Also you now lose spores as often as not because you must commit them before rolling to see if you actually spawn.

In my experience the spawning is now working fine - I could just about live with upping the costs of spores if it was felt necessary but at present I don't see any justification.

I will field a Dominatrix the weekend after next when our group meets (and do a full batrep). How about this suggestion, I try the Dominatrix out with the stats of your new Hydraphant plus SC and Synapse and a spawn rate of 1d3+3?

Points? Can?t be 400 as your Hydra has these - 450?

The Hydra should have more effective weapon, so it gets the MW5+. Also with both bio-cannon and breath template, Hiero is too good. I won't even start thinking about the unfairness of fearless Hierophant (or then we can add 100 points to cost immediately).



- Hierophants have 2x Bio Cannons, not a single Bio-Cannon (So that'd be four shots under the current Bio-Cannon stats).

Re: Hierodules.

These seem pretty fine. Although fearless is definitely goner. Also with 3DC the fair critical hit is autokill. One more thing. If the Forges model for these is really a bit larger than Land Raider, is it worthwhile to consider 2DC instead of 3?


If you reduce the Hierodules to 2DC, then the Hierophant needs to drop back to 4DC to maintain the relationship.

I'd leave it as it is... Hierodules are much harder than you'd expect for their size in 40k too.
