Jimbo,

I almost want to tell you what SMELCHAK means, but your search is just too entertaining!  :D

Soooo.... We have:

- A horse
- A missile
- What's next?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Markconz: First name Mark, followed by surname initials and then NZ for New Zealand.

Made back when I was trying to get a hotmail account ages ago, and Markco was already taken.

Cheers
Markconz

Me- Stormseer is from the White Scars Space Marine chapter- the chapter librarians are designated as such, due to their storm calling powers IIRC... :D

...I just decided on it when I needed a new forum name- I'd been reading a WD IA article on them, so it just was in my head and seemed suitable!

Jimbo,

Is it a movie?

Good try again. Those things all have that name, but none of them say what it means.

Here's a clue: It's a word in most Slavic languages so you'll be able to find it in a Ukrainian, Czech, or even a russian dictionary. I'm certain that the word exists in other Slavic languages as well.

I'll give it away at this point if you'd like.

Soooo.... We have:

- What's next?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!

SMELCHAK: What I do to people who piss me off; I lay down a pretty mean Smelchak... :D

Well, my alias comes from the days when NetEpic was young. Someone (I don't remember who) referred to me as "Primarch Pete," and the "Primarch" part of the name stuck.

Primarch.

DRUAGA isn't Celtic ;).

It is from the same pantheon as Dahak and Nergal.

Errr... umm..., my name is Alan (so Latin-ised by Alanius) and Inquisitor, because when I created it, I was reading the Inquisitor series!

Dr?agh? is Celtic (And by Celtic I mean the pan-Irish-Scottish bit) BTW, I am not a native speaker, but SEVERAL of my friends/colleagues/associates are!

Smelcahk, in Ukranian english dictionary I got this

Информация по слову отсутствует

по     after, along, till

словотворчі     word-formative

слов'яни     slavs

Long winded slav?, I am guessing, no offense intended!

Ah, different Druaga then! ;)

My nickname doesn't come from anywhere near Ireland.

What pantheon do Dahak and Nergal come from?

Jimbo,

OK. You've waiting long enough and have been an awfully good sport.

You guessed:

- A horse
- A missile
- A movie
- An angel
- A superhero

Here's what the "SMEL" part of "SMELCHAK" means:

Translating from my Ozhegov dictionary:

- SMEL'ET: (Verb) (Pefective form: O'SMEL'ET): To become brave and decisive or to become braver or more decisive.

- SMEL'OST': (Noun - Quality): The quality of bravery and decisiveness.

- SMEL'YI: (Adjective):
1. Not knowing fear and being decisive (implying leadership qualities).
2. Original or innovative as in avante guarde (usually referring to ideas or actions).
3. Leaving the boundaries or propriety or conventional behavior or unconventional (as in an off-color joke or an odd place).
4. SMEL'O: (Adverb) With ease or panache (as in an action done without visible discomfort).
5. SMEL'O: (Adverb) With full assurity or self-assuredness.

- SMEL'CHAK: (Noun - Person): A person who is brave, decisive and very confident.

When your family are peasant Jews in Czarist Russia and fight back when the Cossacks come in for a pogrom (a murderous sacking with looting and rapine) and your relatives fight back, the local non-Jewish villagers change your last name to SMEL'CHAK. It wasn't common for Jewish villagers to fight back against the Cossacks in those days and survive. My relatives fought back well and lived. The Cossacks were the "cowboys" of the Slavic East complete with horses and guns and, in many cases, cattle-rustling as well.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hhmmmm...

I can't beat Maksim's name description and that's for sure!

I chose mine a few years ago, because my friends said that I was hard to get to know. I was?always a loner and when I let my guard down, my dark sense of humour came out (or so I was told).

Anyway, that died down for a while until I started playing online with friends and always chose dark characters and so the DarkOne name stuck. This is not to mention buying a black car, which only added to the comments friends made.

Anyway, I couldn't choose DarkOne when playing Diablo 2 as the name was taken so I used my age to finally get what I wanted.

Hmmmm... time has flown, hasn't it? :o
