I transferred over my ambassador file from Epic40k.com as well.

General Info (Gaming Background): I got into gaming in the late 1970s with early Star Fleet Battles, the first edition of D&D, and the many Avalon Hill bookcase strategy games. My first miniatures were Starships from Star Fleet Battles and D&D fantasy figures from Grenadier. In the later 1980s, I got into Battletech and started collecting microscale (6mm, 1/285, etc.) figures for a variety of games ranging from Modern-era armor up to Sci-fi armies. I only collect 6mm scale now so that everything is compatible and I only have to build terrain in one scale! The pride of my collection is my Epic forces, my 6mm urban terrain, and my largely home-made collection of 6mm Car Wars (Autoduel) vehicles.
- What is your name?
I have a Hebrew name, a US (English) name, a Russian name, and probably a few other I don't know about yet. I usually go by Maksim, which is a Russian equivalent to the name Max.
- Where do you come from?
I'm residing in the USA (California), but I make it over to Israel about once or more a year for an extended stay. I've also lived around the world including the Ukraine and Russia.
- What is your age?
That's classified. I'm an old fart. Jimbo and I have a club. Legion-4 is probably a member of the "Old Farts" club too! Jimbo calls it the "Old Git" club. I'm thinking of calling it the AK club, which is the Yiddish abbreviation for Alter Kocher or "Old Fart!"
- How long you been wargaming?
I started in the 1970's, and I don't want to count how many years it has been. I really didn't get into miniatures until the 1980's and didn't collect a lot of miniatures until Adeptus Titanicus (although I still have big Car Wars and Battletech collections). AT-1 and SM-2 were really great games that made miniatures happen for me.
- What is your favorite GW game (apart from Epic and BFG )?
I'm with Peter on this one. Epic is my game although I play a little BFG (and have a small fleet) and I have a great fondness for Talisman 2nd Edition. I don't buy minis for any of the 28mm GW games although I'll play if someone else lends me an army. I'd love to get some more BFG ships, but money isn't growing on trees in my neighborhood.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
