Tricky question, long ago, it wasn't even called that, I'm not sure what it was called or defined. But since my first memories are that of playing with soldier and have battles with made up rules, I'd say around 30 years.

What is your favourate GW game (apart from Epic of BFG )?

Absolutely no other. Its epic or death}

But I do play 6mm WWII as well. I've cut back a lot as I have grown older. The answer to this question 5 years ago would have been a long list.

At the moment the game of choice for my regular opponent and myself is LoTR:TTT. I knowmany dont like it but, IMHO, If you want a fun game that can be a hell of a laugh if not taken seriously (at all..) then its class. I would say its a "Beer and Pretzels" game, save I cant drink and dont like pretzels........
If we want a "serious" game, we leave the GW world completely.

Model, paint, roll dice, shoot and maime (on the gaming board of course!) but DONT TRUST DOCTORS ? :cool:

I have a Hebrew name, a US (English) name, a Russian name, and probably a few other I don't know about yet. I usually go by Maksim, which is a Russian equivalent to the name Max.

- Where do you come from?

I'm residing in the USA (California), but I make it over to Israel about once or more a year for an extended stay. I've also lived around the world including the Ukraine and Russia.

- What is your age?

That's classified. I'm an old fart. Jimbo and I have a club. Legion-4 is probably a member of the "Old Farts" club too!

- How long you been wargaming?

I started in the 1970's, and I don't want to count how many years it has been. I really didn't get into miniatures until the 1980's and didn't collect a lot of miniatures until Adeptus Titanicus (although I still have big Car Wars and Battletech collections). AT-1 and SM-2 were really great games that made miniatures happen for me.

- What is your favorite GW game (apart from Epic and BFG )?

I'm with Peter on this one. Epic is my game although I play a little BFG (and have a small fleet) and I have a great fondness for Talisman 2nd Edition. I don't buy minis for any of the 28mm GW games although I'll play if someone else lends me an army. I'd love to get some more BFG ships, but money isn't growing on trees in my neighborhood.

Talisman was agreat game, I really lament never buying up the stuff when I had the chance. Especially now, since I think my son would really like it. I like the BFG ships too, but damn are they expensive!

How long you been wargaming?

I first picked up roleplay, standard D&D stuff, graduated onto Aliens roleplay (great) and then got bored with the event. Moved over to Rogue Trader (wargames proper) in about 1988, and Dark Future. Space Marine 1st was bought fairly soon after it came out and that was it. Since then I have played most games GW have produced.

What is your favourate GW game (apart from Epic of BFG ?)?

OK, now my secret will be revealed... Advanced Space Crusade. I know, I know, everyone hates it (including Jervis, the creator) but I think that it is fantastic. It took the best bits from Space Hulk and added cool exploration and extra detail. I will now stop, as I have a habit of going on and on about this game, but if anyone wants more info, just ask!

Anything else you wanna say?

Not really. Just that it is great to see such diversity on these boards. Oh, and I am waiting for Tuff to bring out AofK... it is the main reason that I have not bought Warmaster! ?

still have an interest in Space 1889, but haven't played for years... once was involved in a major AD&D campaign, which was played more like Monty Python then serious fantasy.... I also GM'd a very interesting Warhammer Fantasy RolePlay campaign.

Armies Collected (Miniatures):
Again these are current armies (I have a wealth of miniatures hanging about, but am trying to sell a lot of this stuff on eBay)
Epic 40K: ?
Orks - this is my major and favourite force for Epic, I just find it an amusing army to fight with and I like the fact the rules reflect this. I am currently converting some miniatures into Heavy Artillery, I also have a large Ork transport on the way and I am thinking about making some Heavy Ork Bommerz...
Imperial Guard - I do like tanks and the miniatures are the best of the lot.
Space Marine - well when you get all those plastic miniatures in the box, you have to do something with them, find them a little too shooty for me.
Warmaster
Orcs and Goblins - they are really nice miniatures.
Warhammer 40k
Orks - but they will be a snow based force complete with ski troops and snomobiles.... ?

General Info (Gaming Background): ?

I started gaming back in 1982 or thereabouts (I am excluding the stuff I use to do with 1/32nd scale plastic matchbox infantry and Britains guns which fired matchsticks (Little Wars anyone) when I was about eight) so in 1982 I started to play 25mm Napolenics - had some interesting Prussian Highlanders at this point.

After a few years of that I did some 1/300th World War Two microarmour (British force) and the one time my Cromwells decided to drive through a river (and sank) still haunts me to this day....

One day my gaming group (around 1983) had just bought a new game, called Warhammer, and tried it and it seemed fun... I originally bought a Dwarf army, but eventually switched to Orcs, building up a nice little army complete with lots of Goblins, lesser Goblins and the odd Pygmy or three.

Bought Rogue Trader (Warhammer 40K First Edition) when it came out, and had an Ork force and some Space Marines.

During that time bought loads of other games (esp boardgames such as Block Mania, Mighty Empires and so on...).

Spent a lot of time and money on Car Wars, which is a great game.

In the early 1990s I didn't buy Adeptus Titanicus as I didn't like the idea of large robot games, but did buy Space Marine, hated the rule, but loved the miniatures, so I used a slimmed down version of Dirtside instead. ?

It was about this time that I decided I didn't like the way GW were heading and started to ignore them (except the odd game of Man o War) and got into more types of gaming including 15mm Operation Sealion and Moderns, Flintloque, and putting on the odd display game here and there.

In 1992 I helped to form the SFSFW (Society of Fantasy and Science Fiction Wargamers) and two years later edited there journal, however I am no longer involved in that anymore. At the time I put on developed and ran a range of participation games at various shows across the country, and my personal favourite was a Star Trek variation of Full Thrust. The Star Trek variation of Full Thrust was one of the most popular participation games of all time and won numerous best of show awards, as a result of that I formed a small gaming company to sell the system alongside the main Full Thrust rules. I also started to sell other rules as well, Felix Enterprises was born. It died in 1999 due to that fact it stopped making money...

I didn't buy Epic40K when it came out, but my mate Simon did so and said it was a good system.... I did buy it (with a load of miniatures) in the half price sale they had in February (98 I think) and bought more stuff when a local games shop closed down - since then it has been my favourite and most played game.

My website, http://www.felixent.f9.co.uk has been around since 1998 and was originally designed to sell my rules, but at the time it was impossible to sell them to the USA (no PayPal then). I also wanted people to visit and hence the miniatures gallery was placed on the site to attract visitors and I still feel it is one of the best on the web.

As you can probably guess I like taking photographs, and I feel I ain't too bad at it.... ?

Harry Turtledove is my favourite current author, but do like Louis de Bernieres and others.

IT
I see IT as a tool but as part of my job I need to use and evaluate a lot of IT kit, currently testing bluetooth and GPRS (if I can get the damn stuff working)... fave OS is Mac OS X, but spend most of my time using Windows XP...

General Info (Gaming Background):
I got into gaming in the late 1970s with early Star Fleet Battles, the first edition of D&D, and the many Avalon Hill bookcase strategy games. - The first game of this type I ever played was Hero Quest when it was released (I still have it too, and all the extension packs like the witch king etc). I never played anything then until my younger brother bought space crusade. It was okay (I especially liked the android dreadnoughts :cool:

) but didn't get me too involved.

My younger brother then bought 40K, but, as he had reading difficulties, asked me to read and explain the rules to him (he was about 11, I was 16). And eventually I was hooked.
