Events and interests seem to be gradually veering me towards professional sculpting, but my experience is pretty negligible. ?In particular I think I'd have trouble with mechanical objects: i.e. weapons and vehicles. ?So I'm going to practise with a 6mm (1/268) version of a real world vehicle. ?And since it seems to be the done thing, I'm going to post bits and pieces of my progress.

Leafing through the proper Jane's recognition guide I decided that - whatever it's actual pros or cons - the Dana/Zuzana SPG appeals to me, and seems to have less fiddly bits than others that appealed to me. :;):
I've got a few photos, found a handy diagram here, got measurements to scale down; but before I start mixing putty I'll have to plan where to start and how to proceed. ?Upper half of the main chassis on plasticard, pop it off and complete lower half, maybe.

If that's an easy one, what the h*ll were the others?
Looking forward to seeing your progress.

 The Giat Caesar and 2S7 Pion, for two.  The hydraulics etc. about the breech are a tad intimidating at this time.  At least on the Dana they're mostly hidden by the turret.

Couple of bits I forgot: It'll include only 'vulcanisable' materials, so no styrene or superglue; though styrene would have made it a lot easier, probably.  Also, I'm going to give myself a deadline, to judge future deadlines against.  Two weeks from now.  The night of December 4th.  Sound reasonable?

First things first.  Perform a delicate cartridge refilling operation so's I can actually print that diagram. ???

I hadn't seen those.  Thanks for posting the pic.  But I didn't sculpt them, so the increase in my experience is zip. :;):

Maybe make it the night of December 5th.  Bloody refill kit.
