With my custom Tyranid Dominatrix, the Red Queen,  placing in the Titan Competition, my friends and I decided to celebrate by running a small campaign based on the story I wrote of the Queen's Splinter Fleet arriving on the bountiful agri-world of Xersus VI.

The campaign will span around 5-6 games involving Imperial Guard and Space Marines vs the Tyranids, with a small chance of Ork involvement.

I hope to do battle reports and then a small "campaign book" to allow other people to play out the battles.

Got in the first game tonight, an "Escalating Engagement" of Steel Legion vs Tyranids, that I'll be reporting on soon.

I hope it's enjoyable for all!

Battle 2 in the campaign is shaping up for tomorrow evening.  I'm still working on the scenario, but it looks like it'll be a Space Marine Hit-and-Run raid on a Tyranid spawning bed.

Is that going to be the first apperance of the Red Queen? How many more have you got planned for the campaign?

The Campaign actually seems to be going for more battles than I initially thought, as it's been pretty evenly back and forth for both sides, I'm anticipating 4-5 more games, because my opponents are still excited about it.  We've even been discussing what to do for our *next* campaign!  *laugh*  Playing these different missions has really generated a lot of excitement in our EPIC group.

The next Guard mission is a "Breakthrough" mission as Guardsmen are cut off and have to escape through Tyranid "lines" (and it sees the return of Lt Harmes!  *laugh*).

The Marine opponent and I have hashed out the groundwork for a "Recon" mission for the Marines; still have to do a little work on it, but we hope it works... and it might just reveal the Red Queen.  

Once she's "spotted" things will probably get *really* nasty!
