Think the sniper, skimmer, FF4 and 35cm charge would make 8 of these guys a really nasty assault formation!

I can hear the complaints allready!

guess youre right, maybe a bit to imaginative.

While I tend to agree Mohawk, it is little more than the jetbikes already have, so if the stats are deemed too powerfull here, this is really a question about Jetbikes as a whole

While I realise that sniper is really a unit speciality, could we apply this to the Ranger Rifle in this case, to prevent it being used in Assault?? (after all, the FF value is really the jetbike shuriken catapaults)

As for Scout - perhaps the formation size should be 4 - 6
(in line with existing Rangers). Also, don't forget they are "Mounted" and "Infantry".

Cheers

Ginger

I have no plans of mounted Rangers. One of the design princibles of the craftworld lists is that it has as few possible new units added. Siam Hann already has more than others.

Isn?t the Guardian Troupe rather cheap @200 Pts for 3 Wave Serpents and 6 Guardians?

In the BT list, the Wave Serpents alone are 50 each, which adds up to 150 for 3.

Wouldn?t 250 Pts for the formation be closer to the mark? That would place each of the Guardains at ~17Pts, still a steal if you ask me.

I?m also convinced that the formation itself is quite useful, double into support range, Guardians behing the WS and in BtB for cover, place BMs with the WS? Twin Shuriken Cannons, engage with Windrider Warhost and get 9x4+FF as support.

I?m painting a SH army for a friend of mine for a tourney in two weeks time, so any comments will be appreciated.

Thanks.

MC23 - I`m assuming that the Falcon troupe, Fire Prism troupe and Night Spinner troupe detailed in V5 are to be changed in line with the Eldar revisions - namely Swords of Vaul troupe (5-6 Grav tanks, any mix of Falcons or Fire Prisms) and Shields of Vaul troupe (3 Night Spinners).
Cheers.

In games against marines and experimental BT, the SH list with proposed modifications does well.  We?re going through a 40K phase at the moment but will be revisiting eldar presently.  When we get some new games in Ill be more concrete,  but this is some observations at this point.

*The initiative 2 works. It puts a risk that your pinwheeling pincer attacks et al, will not go as choreographed, counterbalancing some of the positive benefits of the windrider and guardian formations.

*Guardian formations are extremely efficacious. Absent the above initiative factor, their smaller size, and limited options balance this.  Under SH they are pretty much pegged as a strike force vs. a more well rounded formation with a variety of options. I?d keep their points at this level as a result. At worst I would do a small points in crease of 25 points.

*The change in save really puts vipers and bikes on an even field. The increased pricing feels appropriate for those formations, reducing their power slightly but still on par with their competition.

*the Vaul formations feel appropriate as well. The shorter ranged prisms are balanced with increased firepower (except for AAA). The firestorm formations are effective for AAA. The change to pulse means that my tanks, which were always moving, now have an insured 2 potential shots and are not penalized. As eldar and Sam Hain are all about speed, this feels right.
