I use Architect design trees, the ones they use on their concept models. We have a friend who imports them from China. They come in all sorts of sizes. I will add a pic when I get home. They work well with foam or GW hill sets as they are based on a metal stake in the centre.

Cheers

Are you using the metal or plastic ones?

I have seen prepainted plastic ones and metal ones that you have to paint and finish.

I too am looking forward to your pictures.

As promised the trees on a GW hill.

I am going to start another thread over at Terrain and add some more pics.

Cheers

Nice hill. Saw the other thread and have added my comments on that thread.

I just got back from seeing a B-17, B-24 and B-25 at a small airport about 10 minutes from where I work. As usual it was very enjoyable and since I went during a work day, there was hardly anybody there. The B-17 and B-24 were open to the public.  :) And, for the low, low price of $425 you could go for a half hour flight in one of the planes.  :p

They do that here once a year. The Airport is near my house. In order for them to not interfier with the normal trafic, they fly low and out over my house. So for a couple of days I have Vintige WWII bombers flying over. So much fun!

Nothing sounds the same, that is for sure.

That is so true. I love the sound of those huge radial engines. The sound of the big in-lines is pretty sweet, too.

That must've been sooo cool. I've never seen a Spitfire or a Lanc in person.

Yesterday I unexpectedly won two ebay auctions. One was for 15 nearly complete SM2 Marine sprues. I bid about $3 per sprue, figuring it would go higher than that. Much to my surprise I won it for 22 pounds.

The other one was for some lead Chaos minis: 7 Beasts of Nurgle, 13 Fleshhounds, 5 Demonettes, 9 Flamers, 6 Slaanesh Fiends, 5 Tzeentch Horrors and 5 Bloodletters. I really wanted to win this one, but I was kind of surprised I won, since my max bid was $32.50. I won it for $31.

Now that I've just paid almost $90 for the two lots, I'm feeling a little guilty for spending that much.  :(

You know it.    I've been in a B-17 many times, but never a B-24. I was really hoping to get into the cockpit and nose turret, but both were inaccessible to the public.  :(  I was able at least to see look into the cockpit and I saw a little bit of the nose turret through the cockpit.

To each his own, I guess. Me, the sound of tank engine & tracks is the thing. Unless I'm in a foxhole and the sound is coming from the direction of the enemy. Luckily I have never been. In addition to the possibility of having been killed some washing machine would most likely have wanted to have a word with me about my pants...

We had to sit in a foxhole and have a M60 run over us ! And then pop up with an expended LAW and practice firing at it's rear hull onced it passed !  Very Cool !  Glad we never had that happen except in training !   :D
