Just one problem: Are we even getting plastic sprues ever?-(

That's the rumor - the February release will be a rerelease of the E40k sprues.

That's the stated intent as of a couple months ago but there has been no confirmation that it's on schedule since then.

Oh it was also supposed to come in autumn 2006 window as well. With Andy saying it's going as schedeluded when I asked few months ago wether that was still holding up...

Guess in february we'll be repeating mantra "autumn 2007, autumn 2007, autumn 2007" etc untill new decade starts up and we'll be still wondering when we'll be getting epic rereleased.

Neal has basically covered what we actually know. The Epic 40k sprues are being reissued as is, if it does actually happen. No Daemon Engines though :( .

As for what Chaos will be released I would say the odss are it will be exactly what was available for Epic 40k as is, with the unreleased miniatures that were already made (bikes and dreads). I will be very surprised if there are any new sculpts.

I don't think the daemon engines will make it back into print and that was causing the heartburn.

Forgeworld will be re-imaging the Daemon engines for 40k in the upcoming year... I would not be surprised to see Epic versions released at the same time.

This may require some stat changes of course, to keep the engines in line with whatever new form they take.

That all sounds reasonable ... Basically an E40K re-release + the Bikes & Dreads that T/S painted eons ago ... ?And hopefully F/W will release Doppelgangers of their yet unreleased 40K D/Eng in 6mm ... Well here's to hoping ... :D

I agree that LatD should be official. The core units would be available, and if it is only the Daemon Engines that are holding things up then I dont think that this is a problem at all... in fact, these are exactly the units that actually benefit from players scratch-building and converting their own.

I cant really think of any Epic player that would not want the LatD list to be made official, as it has gone through the same playtesting as the other lists.

You mean, like the Biel Tan list in Swordwind?

What about the greater deamons?  What is the likely hood they will be rereleased?  Just asking as they are probably the final pieces missing to complete my BL and LatD armies (sans any new stuff that may ever get released).

Thanks,
Adrian

Look at the Warmaster range for Greater Daemons that are suitably large and scary enough to be considered 3DC war engines.

I've got the Keeper of Secrets and Lord of Change for my armies and I'm very pleased with them!

Aye, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Warmaster Greater Daemon part codes re-used for Epic Chaos.

Yep, the Warmaster line has a number of items, suitable for Epic ...

That's been discussed since then. ?In fact, that whole fiasco precipitated the ERC/Andy discussion about it.

The standard SG is using is that they don't want to release a list that will require OOP models to be viable. ?L&D, once infantry and daemons available on chaos sprues, should be a viable list using available product lines (Imperial, mostly). ?I don't think the daemon engines will make it back into print and that was causing the heartburn. ?But even without them everything else on the list will be available and a range of potential army types and strategies will be feasible.

That doesn't mean they will definitely decide to make it "official" but everyone on the ERC said we thought it was good enough to do so. ?I will be surprised if they continue to keep it unofficial.

I recently saw some posters on the SG forum saying that Andy said all we're getting is the plastic infantry sprue and that all the other chaos molds have been lost or destroyed is this true? Because after all the tripe we were handed about model availabillity totally dictating what could and what couldnt be in the lists and then this would seem to be nothing but  a pile of BS.

Or FW could base their 40K stats on the epic ones.
