Next, I'm going to try to find some inexpensive trees to make some woods. I'm thinking about checking out a hobby store near my house which specializes in trains. I believe this store carries N-gauge stuff, which should be about the right scale for epic. Otherwise, I think I saw some decent ones on the JR Miniatures website. (I must say, I really like their stuff. I'll probably be ordering some of their Sci Fi terrain.)

Overall, I've discovered how relatively easy it is to make effective terrain.

Check out your local Pet Store as well. Many of them have cheep Aquarium Plants that can make great toss around terrain.

One friend took a large batch of them and mounted them on pennies. that way he could group them in many different shapes and sizes. By mixing a few different kinds of plants he had a nice looking ?Alien Forest" or Jungle.

I did that last night. Nothing really caught my eye, though.

I did, however, go to the hobby store near me which has a ton of train supplies. I was not disappointed.  :)  This store has a good selectiom of terrain, some pre-made, some that you can make yourself fairly easily. I picked up two packs of pre-made trees for $15. I anticipate going back for more.

Hi Guys,

I have a couple of recommendations:

- Pet store aquarium plants

- Cake decoration plants

http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/novel ... elties.htm

- Woodland Scenics tree armatures

http://www.woodlandscenics.com/

Woodland Scenics TR1120
3/4" - 2" Deciduous Tree Arm. (114/pkg)
Price: $11.98

That's the pack I like best for Epic purposes.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Thanks for the info, Maksim. A hobby store that specializes in trains is a few miles from my house and it carries Woodlnad Scenics. I really like their stuff.

Unfortunately I haven't done much painting the past couple of days, maybe an hour. However, I did manage to spray a couple of coats of flat sealer on my 20 IG stands, 5 Tarantulas and 6 Death Strike Missile Launchers. This leaves me with 3 Razorbacks, 2 Titan heads and 5 weapons, which is all that's left on my WIP list. Almost done, finally! :)  Then I can move on to new things.

Also, I started writing my article for Incoming!, which is about my alternate D10 Titan critical hit tables for SM2/NetEpic. Writing the article has been harder than I anticipated, since I want to give readers a good idea of  my thoughts and ideas in creating these tables. My goal is to create new tables for all Imperial titans, except for the Imperator, Eldar titans, Chaos titans and probably Gargants. I'm not going to touch the Praetorians in NetEpic at this point, because I'm not sure they need it. Although, if enough people express a desire for it, I'll rewrite them as well.

Can you add an immunity to Ork Gargant ball shots for Squat Praetorians please?  :D

Yeah, those ball shots cartainly can be nasty.

I could put in something like that, but I'm not sure Ork players would go for it.

DS,

If you need trees, just let me know. I'll make em up for you and we can figure out a trade down the road.

Don't spend your money.  If you liked the ones from the tournament then you'll be pleased.

Let me know how big, how many, blah blah blah.  PM me and we'll get you hooked up.  Take those $15 trees back if you can (that is a such a rip off).

Your amigo,

Bill

Hey Bill,

Thanks for the offer. I'll take it into consideration. If you could email pics of the trees to refresh my memory, I would appreciate it. I'm sure we can work something out. I am planning on going to the tourney in Albany, BTW.

It is too late to return them, but I don't feel ripped off, since I got a good number of trees. Also, I wanted to try my hand at making my own scenery.

Tim

If you check out the pic you can see some of the trees in the background.   They were really easy to make.

How many trees did you get for the $15 out of curiosity?

Yeah, I do like those trees. We'll have to work out some sort of deal.

I got about a dozen trees for my $15.

I use Architect design trees, the ones they use on their concept models. We have a friend who imports them from China. They come in all sorts of sizes. I will add a pic when I get home. They work well with foam or GW hill sets as they are based on a metal stake in the centre.

Cheers
CAL
