I based them just for a little stability ... :D ?On standard round bases ... :)

That's kind of what I was thinking. The square bases are too small. I've been considering basing Stompas for the same reason, stability.

Really? I thought the square ones were perfect for them.

In any case, look forward to seeing your photosonce they are done.  :;):

My mistake, they are a good size. I meant to say that square bases are too small for Stompas.

Yep, I use the standard 25mm round & 20-25 square bases for a lot of my Epic Dreads, Bots, weapons, bikes, etc. ...
:)

I received some bad news a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if this is the case worldwide, but in the US, GW decided to get rid of all part time employees in the retail stores. Since my nephew is (was) a part timer, he was let go.  :(  This means, of course, that I can't take advantage of his employee discount anymore.  :(

My nephew and I both hope that at some point in the future GW realizes its error and decides to hire part timers again.

Hi DS,

Sorry to hear the bad news...

I recommend using fender washers for mini basing...

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I have plenty of bases on hand, I'm more concerned about not being able to get new minis at 40% of the retail price.

It doesn't need to be soon, but at some point in the not-too-distant future would be nice. Not that I need more minis, but... :p

"Not that I need more minis...?"  :O  Heretic! It is the will of the ancestors and the Emperor that we get new minis!

Now go and chastise yourself by reading GW's latest marketing blather.   Oh, and buy new minis as well.  :;):

I never said I wouldn't buy more minis. I'm mad that my nephew got laid off, because I won't be able to have him buy them for me with his employee's discount.

I like your part about "marketing blather". Blather is the peferct word. ?

After attending my first Epic tourney, I came to the realization that I'm sorely lacking in terrain. I kind of knew this already, but seeing all the terrain that was used for the four gaming tables really left an impression on me.

With that though in mind, I've decided that making terrain has moved towards the top of my to-do list. With the builidings form AT, SM1, SM2 and TL, I'm certainly set in that department. Ruins, however, are another story; so, I dug out my copy of E40k, took out all of the ruins and will commence working on them.

Next, I'm going to try to find some inexpensive trees to make some woods. I'm thinking about checking out a hobby store near my house which specializes in trains. I believe this store carries N-gauge stuff, which should be about the right scale for epic. Otherwise, I think I saw some decent ones on the JR Miniatures website. (I must say, I really like their stuff. I'll probably be ordering some of their Sci Fi terrain.)

Overall, I've discovered how relatively easy it is to make effective terrain.
