Basically, I agree, the Hierophant should be more effective in CC (And should have the bio-cannons the model is armed with heh).

This wouldn't really make it any more effective in CC unless you give up the bio-cannons (Actually it'd be LESS effective, going from EA+2 TKD3 to EA+2 TK1.) But it better fits with the idea that in order to really do a lot of melee damage, it has to be carrying those huge rending-claw equivs like they did under AT/AT-II. If you spec out one for ranged combat it'll still be good in melee, but not nearly the 'titan cracking, tank-slaughtering, destruction machine' that it COULD be.

nothing I object to there, as long as the 'standard' configuration (two bio cannons) is available it's all good.

Hi!

Nice FW model. Will it ever be out?

As I understand it the reasoning behind the model's lack of release is that there's no accompanying set of rules/models from Specialist Games to go with it. At least no 'permanent' rules for them. Hence, without a supporting cast, they didn't see any point in putting it out (I could be wrong here, but that's what I've garnered!)

That's exactly what I've been told.

When the SG range is released, they will release their bio-titans.

I find that a strange reason, espcially since several other of their epic ranges don't have rules for them (grey knights, chaos most of the imperial navy)

Grey Knights are stand-alone... literally all you need are those four kits to make a GK army, plus a few thunderhawks (And they're releasing one of those soon).

Chaos, all they currently produce are the aircraft, and those are for Aeronautica Imperialis (The soon-to-be-released aircraft combat game).

The Imperial Navy likewise, they're still available because they'll appear in the air war game.

The only 'nid beastie that was ever released was the Harridan, and I have it on fairly good authority that it will not be making a comeback for A-Imperialis.

Don't you mean "if" the SG range is released?  ???  At this point I wouldn't assume at all that Nids will be released.

Well the majority of the Imperial Tank variants didn't have stats for E40k or E:A when they were first released IIRC so it seems odd that FW would suddenly start to care if SG has done any rules.... and lets not forget the entire Tau range...

Their reasoning is not rules, but supporting miniatures.

There is no point releasing the bio-titans if there is no army for them to go with.

The Tau are different because there are a limited number of miniature types required.

Basically, they know they will not sell in the required numbers to make a profit until the SG range is released.

The other thing about the Tau was that they then went on to produce rules for them in Epic scale (based on those in the Vault I believe, but still). So there WAS a supporting set of rules for them after they were produced. And most likely that supporting set of rules was in planning at the time they started production. Likewise they went to produce the ENTIRE Tau line basically, not just one or two models. Were they motivated to do so, I suspect they'd release a whole line of Tyranids rather then just one or two models. There's not much functional reason to release just one model type for an army, without the rest of the things you need to play that army in place, after all. It'd be like producing the Land Raider model but not putting out any Space Marines to use it!

Well E&C you seem to have some connection with them.  Can you pass on the word that we want their nid models.  If they make them I will buy them (A multipart carnifex would be good, converting them is hard), but any epic nid model they make I'll get some, well lots.

Hi!

This FW excuse is getting old. Release the model. Rules will follow quite quickly.
