Quote (Tas @ 09 June 2006 (22:34)) | I did exactly the smae thing Daf! ?I was even looking at them and thinking of 15mm VSF conversion ideas before I twigged! | Glad I was not alone.
And you are right, the 40k version is a great starting place for VSF conversions. I have seen a few already done.
One I liked quite a bit was a German Steam Walker.

Quote (dafrca @ 10 June 2006 (04:27)) | Oh my, when I looked at the photo of the Sentinels I had to take a double take. At first I thought they were 40k scale ones. Then I realized they were paint pots in the background. Caught me off guard that did. |
You can't get higher praise than that! Thank you - glad these were a hit!
Yesterday I did no painting, partly because I was job-hunting, and partly because I just couldn't be bothered... but I've been back at it today, finishing the remaining Sentinels in the formation:

I also did some more on the 40k Guardsmen, finishing the sculpting on one squad:

Then I touched up the undercoat on a dozen 40k Storm Troopers and 20 Units of Epic Guard... thrilling
Tomorrow I've been called in to work (cue sound of my bank manager sighing with relief), so I'll not have as much time to paint sutff now for over 2 weeks. I'll chip away at stuff while I can though, as I need to get this Epic Guard finished for Call to Arms...
Till next time, enjoy!

Quote (firestorm40k @ 14 June 2006 (20:35)) | ...so no Epic I'm afraid, but I'm just considering from which angle to attack the remainder of my Epic Guard - Infantry, Bikes, or Titans... hmmm... ? | I vote for starting with the Titans.

Quote (Dwarf Supreme @ 19 June 2006 (12:33)) | Painting a ton of infantry stands can be soooo mind numbing. ? | This brings up two thoughts:
1) I believe this is why we see so many armies with Painted vehicles and unpainted troops.
2) This is also a great argument for the Paper counter for troops.

(Who has more unpainted troops then painted ones himself. )

I try to keep vehicles as a reward for painting my current alotment of infantry. ?That way, the infantry get done in a timely manner (after I break them up into reasonably-sized chunks). ?I also try to maintain discipline by only playing with painted miniatures. ?It's hard to stick with the program, and my new IG Steel Legion army may see battle with just a primer coat, but sometimes its the only way I can make myself do what's "right".
