One other thought, if it were mounted slightly above the ground then that would give the illusion of it being taller as well. Between the base height and the gap between the base and the APC. Anyway, just a thought.

I had thought the same thing. Because it is an ACV, I'll have to be very careful about making it too high off the ground. My 6mm grav tanks are mounted on a small nut on top of a piece of clear styrene sheet. You can't see the nut but it raises them up about 3-4 mm. That much height works for a grav tank but would negate the ground effect for an ACV. I'll play around to try to make it work.
It looks like I'll have to postpone some of my work till the weather cooperates.
