Plus there's always a space for anachronisms in Epic... we've got guys running around with banner poles attached to the backpacks after all.

I think theres always a place for a marking - imagine you are allied with irregular militia, or want a back up to show the generals where you are in there real time satilite imageing.

I agree. Note I said:

I have always disliked too many outside markings on my SciFi stuff. I figure FoF signals etc would become normal in the far future. I do not think there would be the need for a lot of markings with the ID of the company or formation.

I do not think there will be Zero, just less then, say, WWII.

As you said, there could be a need for some markings.

Yep ! ?Visual ID will always be around ... and troops like that kind of stuff ! ?It looks cool !  ?And if you have seen my AFV pics, I posted ... you know what I mean ! ?:;):

True L4, and again, I was thinking about the "official" markings. Other junk that the troops add on later, IMO, is another thing.  :;):

One of my favorite ones is in the Colonial Marine Handbook. In the drawing of the AA version the crew wrote This side Up upside down along the bottom edge. Don't know why that hit me so funny, but it did.

i think the easyist way to denote regiment for armor would be colored stripes on the front of the tank like shown in the IG 40k codex...but then you have to paint on the stripes and sometimes they dont look to good next to the pretty camo

note edited cause i cant spell

Much like the Claymore Anti-Personnel mine which has "Front Towards Enemy" inscribed on the front. No joke! :)

Yes, I think they all say that. (See Attached)

What I have not been able to find is a picture of the back of the ones claimed to say something like "Do not eat". Now to be honest, unless someone knows of a picture etc. I think this may be a myth.  ???

I am starting to think the "Do Not Eat" story is just an Urban Legend. I have read it many times, but not seen any evidence or anyone I know who has used them who would confirm the story.

Hi!

What happens if you place the front towards the "non-enemy"?

Your chance of being a victim of accidental fratricide increases dramatically.  :;):

A bit like the Finnish army potato sacks I've heard of which supposedly had a text saying:"Suitable for pigs or at the very least for recruits".  :p
