I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with i-kore models, specifically those from the void line.
I recently aquired some from Tom to paint up & have been impressed with some of their pieces. However, some of the castings aren't as good as they could be - one particular 2 part model has required some serious GS work to join the two pieces. Any similar experiences with their product?
As an aside, I would apreciate your views on my first i-Kore piece. Pictures below. Its intended as a demo cabinet piece, putting it above cabinet army ranking but below competition standards. Comments & critiques much welcomed. It is mising a gun which is normally slung across it back which I will add at a later date.

Wot he said. Wow. My only comment is that it might benefit from another highlight stae on the coat to increase the definition. Aside from that (and even including that!), a great mini. (Reminds me of a Dire Avenger, but that may just be my constant GW exposure!)

...Great piece, I see the "Eldar bodysuit" sorta thing that I think CyberShadow means, but the Samurai (sp?) style of the model differs it from any 40k piece, tho the hands do seem a little big, something that GW's models have suffered from in the past....

Yeah, the hands are a little large. However, after completeing the model it dawned on me that they might have been intended to be "gloved" insige the bodysuit, which would excuse a little of the bulk.
CS: I was very tempted to go further with the jacket, but halted as I wanted it to look rather dull and thus further highlight the body armour. However, if the general vote is for more on the jacket, I'll return to it once I've done thegun for his back 
Thanks for the kind comments guys. Hopefully I'll get a few more Void pieces done this week & get them up on my site & in the De'Aynes as well.

Loving the paint job there Paul! I think the jacket looks groovy as it is really, more highlighting would probably detract from the rest of the model. This might be a case where less really is more  .
I agree the VASA models do have a very Eldar look to them. They are also incredably manga looking.
The knight of balance is one of my favourite models I must admit. Although VASA models in general are very cool!
Which models did you get with bad castings Paul?

On a game related topic, the Knight of Balance is one of the most annoying characters outside of a Syntha force in the game.
It has a 4+ invulnerable dodge save (on a D10), this is rolled against hits not wounds so he is a knightmare to kill. Plus his sniper rifle normally caps at least one model a turn.
Thankfully he kills slow, so although hard to kill is not always a game winner, great for morale though! In CC he is kinda cool too. I believe he is equipped with shadow swords.... let me just check... yep. They are.
The force books have painting guides in them, should have mentioned this earlier to you Paul, you can find them here.

Thanks Tom, I hadnt found the Force Books! I've downloaded the full set of BWM & they're pretty useful, but I'll certainly take a good look at the force books too.
The only model that I've had to fill large gaps on so far was the Koralon dude (Vakar?). I've resisted the temptation to get all the models out the instant they arrived in case I dont get to some of them, but so far he's the only one. BTW: For those legal eagles, the EPICentre has an agreement with I-Kore where we are allows to distribute soft copies of there books. We also look after there gallery, the Guxiss campaign and have been asked to provide a public forum solution for them.
Vakar is OOP now, but I thought he was a cool model for you, sorry mate. Do you want a different Koralon model sent out? I don't mind if you do.

Oooo....First Limited edition models and now OOP ones... you keep piling on the responsibility for a good job dont you? ?
Its not a problem, I've done the GS'ing on him now so he's good to go. The only thing that really worried me was when Helen (my GF) came over just as I started doing the GS work & said "it looks almost like you're missing the middle piece".... he is a two part figure - not three, right?

Lol, if you want a REALLY limited edition model, I have a special one called Sergent Tenko of whom there was only a few ever made - it was a gift for us legionnaires (people who do favours for I-Kore, demo games, applications etc).

I'll get these done first. Things like that seem to add responsibility and I feel a dire need to try and do an awsome job on them just to do the model justice

I love the new Dwarf plastics, they are so easy to paint! You can churn out regiments of the little guys.
They look so serious as well, in a snow white kinda way.
To be honest I don't think Sergent Tenkos model is particulary amazing but it is still cool for the shear rarity!
Good luck with the Junkers, if you need inspiration the pics on the gallery were done by the I-Kore painters.

A couple more WIP shots of my i-Kore stuff.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to devote as much time as I had hoped to these, and I am now away for 10 days, but any tips for improvement much appreciated & I'll implement them on my return ?
