Odd that you were called on a Sunday morning for a follow-up interview. Researching a company is always very helpful and can only help you. Knowing their buzz words and phrases, annoying as they may be, shows them you've done your homework. Good luck!

Well, I have been working with Patrick for some time helping him to plan out his terrain lay out and teaching him basic techniques ........

Sounds like a great opportunity. Help someone else learn while doing what you like to do.   :D

Now, you know what I will ask for next, right?

So far everything you've said makes sense M/S. Apart from the Sun morning call. That's a bit of an encroachment on your weekend- maybe a marker for how they expect you to be at their beck & call 24/7??

As for the buzzwords that is symptiomatic of modern management speak. I have never bothered to learn them all off pat and try not to use them in my working conversations. Then again that might explain why it has taken me so long to get promoted....
???  ???
The ratios of first/second interviews sounds right. When we were hiring back in January we saw 10 people for junior managerial role after they had been pre-screened by recruitment agency. We ended up forwarding 3 candidates to 2nd interview with Group FD. To be honest 1 of the 3 candidates never stood a chance and was there as a bechmark for other 2. So effectively that is a 20% ratio from 1st to 2nd interviews. We knew both the other 2 candidates could do job and it was down to personaility fit with Group FD.

So that means congrats to you for getting this far!!
And best wishes for the final stage.

Cheers

James

I go into the interview with the mindset that I am THE person for the job and if they can not see that, it is their loss.

Now, I do not mean act arrigant, but I do mean be cool, calm, amd confident.

Also remember to ask for the job. I mean litterly, say someting like:

"I know I am the person for this job and I want it. I want this opportunity."

I can not tell you how many people have said to me something like; "Person X seemed really excited about the job, they wanted it. We should hire them."

Ask for it and be confident you are going to do a good job. Do not be wishy washy or too passive.

OK, I will get off my soap box. :p

Good Luck!

Hi Dafrca and Gang,

Well, everything is now set...

- Resume updated.

- Assessment test taken yesterday (an on-line affair).

- Clothing readied (tan slacks, white shirt, red tie, black shoes & belt).

About the last two things I need to do are scout out the location today and to pre-prep a couple of speech gambits in case I'm asked to speak at length. I can do all of the on-the-fly kind of talk, but a longer speech takes a little prep. I'll be practicing today just in case.

Yes, I like that attitude, but I really do want the job!

While I think it would be a greater loss for them... I'd feel it too!

Hey, I'm from the talk-this-out school of thought so it's good to hear advice... you're welcome to take your soap box with me!

Thanks!

It really means alot to me to hear a few positive notes and receive a little support from my friends here.

I'm still a little nervous, but I feel good and know that I'm qualified for the job and will do my best tomorrow to import that to the people I speak with.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi Guys,

The interview/s went well. I should hear back from them within about five business days time.. so by the end of next week.

I went through two panels... one of them with the big executive person I thought.

I really wowed the first panel... I spoke very well and they were visibly pleased with my presentation.

I did well with the second group, but one lady wore a poker face so I had a hard time gauging her reaction. I made a good impression on her younger colleague though... I felt pretty assured about that.

But regardless, I'm now in the waiting game. I do felt that I did a good job though and can only hope for the best.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

You did your best and now we shall see if they have the brains to see what they have before them. :;):

Glad it went well.
