I was thinking about Disrupt weapons and the way they work and came up with an interesting question: With most Disrupt weapons they're BP weapons, meaning the maximum number of 'hits' you can inflict is 1 per base in the unit.. But certain weapons, like Tau Burst Cannons, are NOT BP but are disrupt. As I read the core rules this would mean that each hit those weapons inflict, even in excess of the number of bases left in the unit, will still cause more blast markers to be placed. Normally this isn't an issue since the unit will break once it hits 1 BM per Base. But firing on Space Marine formations this becomes important. If I shoot at a Space Marine with a Pathfinder Contingent with Pathfinder upgrade at short range (15cm) I can potentially see as many as 12 hits. It's unlikely, but possible. Suppose I shoot at a Terminator unit. If I hit them 7 times then they break, even if I totally fail to actually cause any casualties, because of the massive number of Disrupt weapons. Was this the intent of the rules? Does it work this way? THe rules seem to indicate it's possible, but it seems a little odd to me with the way Disrupt is supposed to work as a mechanic (replacing the BMs for killing a unit with BMs for hitting that unit), though it might fit from a fluff standpoint.

It looks to me that yes, you can inflict multiple BM per unit if you should score that many hits. However, it only really becomes an issue if the formation being targetted is Space Marine or already broken. In most normal cases the formation becomes broken once the number of BM equals the number of units (and excess BM have no further effect until actually broken, so it doesn't matter anyway!), although it can mean that you can stack BM on Space Marines. If the formation is broken, disrupt weapons are simply very very nasty, as a hit will inflict a kill.
