Quote (dafrca @ 02 2003 July,08:52) | Well, got tired of looking at my IG army. Solid silver (bare metal) just didn't look good.
So I sent off two tank companies to a local painter. Now I just have to motivate myself to paint some of the artillery... | Just got my first Tank Company back. Wow, Denis did a great job. Looks good.
He also told me I could post his work to the contest as long as I gave him credit (and of couse I would do that).

My guard is so happy. I have more painted units then unpainted now.
He took my artillery to start on. I know you guys most likely do not want to hear this, but I am so excited. It is great having at least one army fully painted.

Just finished my last Exodites, the Terradon Flying Dinos. ?Next my Leman Russ Rec. Veh. and then E40K ORK vehicles ! ?And maybe a terrain piece now and then ... and of course there is always more ... Titans, F/W IG, Tau & Kroot, 'Nids, etc., etc., etc. ... ?

You have reached a significant moment in your gaming life, that point when you have painted more than what you got!!
Now you can justify buying more epic!

I dream of this- but keep buying more to ensure it doesn't happen. It keeps me motivated to paint

I REALLY enjoy painting, it's a stress free and relaxing method spending a quiet afternoon.
I WILL NEVER USE unpainted figures, I don't mid playing against them though, and I have on occassion (to my shame) used OTHER PEOPLE unpainted models for scenario/test play purposes only!

At the moment I'm finding that the worst thing about painting is that my missus is feeling left out.
If I decide to paint, then I like to make an evening of it. So, now I have to plan it around her T.V. days. That way we're both happy.

Yeah, this is a common problem it seems.
I spent a weekend painting well over 600 figures, I was getting comments painting being 'all I do'.
Put a self imposed curb to either paint when she's out or one night in three.
Seems to have solved the problem!

Hi!
Hmm...have any of you been married over a decade? 15 years?
I find that after ten years most spouses learn to accept ones little "quirks" and leave you alone.
At least mine does....

Married? ...... Are you mad?
I'm quite happy just to live together thanks. Marriage is faaarrr too expensive for just a piece of paper. Plus there's the cost of the ring, and the honeymoon...
For the price of all that, I can get more Epic and BFG!!!

While still being single myself, I've found that most of my friends with happy marriages have had their gaming lives enhanced by being married. They become more consisent with their gaming since they have to schedule it around wives, chilkdren, and family life. It also becomes more meaningful to them since they can't do it as often.
My friend and I were chatting about this yesterday:
How can so many women put up with men with REALLY EXPENSIVE hobbies like big boats, trucks, and sports cars, but they won't put up with gamers?
We came up with the idea that those kind of women find gaming childish despite the big cost savings and safety factor of having a husband with a mild habit.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I know what you mean, but my girlfriend has to put up with me having this hobby, motorbikes and football.
Each is pretty expensive, Motorbike the first most, then GW then Footy (I get through boots very fast, and I have to pay for the privelage of playing. Not Professional yet )

Although this whole thing is way off topic, if given the choice between being married to the "woman of my dreams" (yeah, whoever that would be? ).
Or being with my old unit wacking Terrorists in Afghanistan or Saddam Loyalists in Iraq...
Well the choice is obvious... to me...
