hi all, if my Eldar fleet (5 ships) is small, my Dark Eldar fleet is even more minute - just 3 ships, making it my smallest (assuming my one remaining SM battlebarge will get swallowed up by the Ad Mech or the Inq or someone. It's just arrived from Australia - Thanks Tas - they ARE nice ships! Whilst I don't approve of the DE methods, I also believe that it's all Imperial propaganda, and that in reality they're just a bunch of Eldar who raid for plunder, not slaves. Oh, the people they carry off? nah, they're just being SAVED from the clutches of the Imperium, and will be de-brainwashed. ANyway, they have some really nice ships! But I'm afraid I modified the Corsairs....

Here are the two modified Corsairs in a clearer (well, slightly...) view. No extra bits needed.

What colourscheme are you going to paint them in? I suggest making them dark red with golden details, then windows etc would be dark green. Take a look at these Dark Eldar. I know those pictures are for warriors, but it could be cool to have ships in a similar colourscheme. Look at this picture for the original inspiration of our colourscheme.

Quote (malika @ 20 May 2006 (15:06)) | Well those look very cool! Wait...I'll PM you about it How have you been painting your warriors btw? | Thanks. Got it - will answer after this reply ( I have a sequence which I somehow always seem to follow at Epicomms new posts first, then PMs - must be something in the mind). Anyway, to take thread this even further off topic - unless we consider these chaps as part of the raiding parties on the ships - they are 2nd hand troops, which were painted by the former owner to a space wolf grey finish over a black undercoat, with metallic details and white 'aprons'. The bases were a bit rough - and still are - so I may be cleaning them up a bit. Anyway - I changed the scheme by painting some areas Scorpion green (yes, the almost-lime green one!), adding some more white in area, washing in flesh wash to tone down the colours, and then drybrushing with sand folowed by white. I'd assumed the Scorpion green would get toned down, and was (fortunately ) correct. Funny that the metal and green scheme slightly complements the Anargo schemes! The warriors themselves are cleaner, and come in black and red. Pic attached - and oh yes, these are crew too...

Uhm... i have always preferred a dark blue for dark eldars, although this cholour scheme looks good, too.
One question: do you like the DE witches? i think they're horrible, specially compared with the fantasy DE witches...

Have you ever wondered about converting fantasy witches? it should be fairly easy...
Now that you talk about harlequins, i once saw in the internet a DE army which had a "dark harlequin" theme: almost all miniatures were DE, painted (and in some cases converted) to look like harlequins. The best part of it all was that the author just chose whatever was in the DE list to make it feel as harlequin as possible, thus making a tournament-legal army!
