So I've been greedily coveting the Imperial Guard boxed set (the one with the infantry, sentinels, beastmen, etc.) over on Chaosorc's webstore for a month now, waiting for my paycheck to hit the bank on the 1st so I could buy it.  So, of course, at 6:00 this morning I go online to buy it...

...gone.

Darn it.  Darn it.  Darn it.  Now I have to piecemeal a Guard force together over on sleazeBay, rubbing elbows with the unwashed masses and undoubtedly spending more than if I'd managed to catch that lone boxed set from Chaosorc.  Grrrr...

That giant whistling sound you hear?  My bubble deflating.

On the bright side, I was able to trade away three GZG 25mm vehicles to a guy on Bartertown for 12 Epic Gorgons (the cool Mk. II ones).   So now my IG army consists of 12 Gorgons and 12 Leman Russes.  Must... find... infantry...

I had my eye on a few things from Chaosorc and when I went to check yesterday, they were gone. Fortunately, they weren't things I don't already have. I was looking to get more of things I already have. Sometimes being very patient (like me) backfires.

I have found that when a good deal is there, buy it. Do not wait.

As for Infantry, are you looking for the old guys or the newer plastic?

I'm not sure what javelin is looking for, but I know I could use some old plastic IG.

I like the older ones.  The new ones just don't do anything for me -- I really think GW limited itself by going with such a specialized unit like the Valhallans.  The older ones are more versatile -- could be Cadians, could be Catachans, could be Iron Guard.  At least they didn't go with something like the "evil winged monkey" Vostroyans!

And now I'm off to stick my head back in the oven...

I'll agree with that. That's probably why I never picked up during the E40k days.

I'm tempted to get some GHQ or Adler infantry instead.  The beauty of that boxed set was that it also came with Ogryns, Ratlings, bikes, Sentinels, characters, gunners, etc.

I wonder if this rafter is strong enough to hold my weight.  Is a noose made with ten wraps or eleven?

Neither, it is made with 13.  :80:

However, I still would not do it. I am sure you will find others to fill your bill.

I just wish I knew of another good source for OOP Epicrack.  Chaosorc has the best store on the net, near as I can tell.  Any other good webstores for this particular addiction?

Hi!

My sentiments too. I use a smattering of newer epic 40k IG, most are the old ones.

Although your "Smatterings" are larger then some people's collections.  :p

I'd recommend the DRM human infantry any day. There are several types and IMO all would make good Guard troops. However, especially the light infantry looks very much like IG.

The Light Infantry were my favorite of the human troops done so far. Like the way they look and the ay TurrSkull painted them.
