Ooo! If the last tank isn't a perfect Squat superheavy tank, nothing is!! ? ?would of course need some de-streamlining but the basic shape is perfect: low center of gravity with excellent rough terrain handling characteristics. ?

Some of there vehicles would work just fine with 6mm stuff.

And yes, a Super heavy would discribe that tank very much.

Some of the CAV is being 'upscaled' for the second edition (to true 10mm), particularly the fliers. I am not sure exactly how many of the tanks are changing.

If the Fighters are being brought up to true 10mm then they might be worth lookingat for a 15mm table, flyers that never land do not look so bad in 1/144th in my opinion.

But the tanks, well 10mm is just too small.

8mm? 10mm? What were they thinking!

Well, the bottom line is, they were not thinking.

OK, the CAV were 10mm, but they desided that the vehicles should be smaller so they would not look too large on the table, so some vehicles are slightly smaller (why I said 8mm) and some are very much smaller (in around 6mm).

What this did was the Matchbox syndrom. All the vehicles are about the same length and height. Thus the scales adjust to match the mini size requirements.

But that was just silly in my opinion. They should have just made everthing either 6mm or 10mm or 15mm but select a scale and stick to it.

On a side note, that is partly why I did nt like the scale change when DP9 did it to their Heavy Gear line. Went from HO to 1/144. Why? Because he said it wuld allow for more terrain selctions. Now today he has tried to reinvent history and said it was about keeping the cost of minis down. Either way it was bullshit. He did nto want a scale you could use other peoples stuff with. They almost went with 1/144 with their WWII game for the same reason. Then changed his mind and went to 15mm, but by then he had already turned off quite a few people. Thus the lack of success the game has had.

Well, enough of my Soap Boxing.

Hi!

I like the resin ones a lot more. Their scale seems more fitting. :)

Good looking stuff, regardless ... I'm still hoping to see Hammer's Forces in 6mm ...

GZG or more important, Jon does good work and does have great ideas. However he has a bad habbit of working on what he wants, when he wants.

Some of us have been waiting for the new versions for many years. And do not even ask how long I have been waiting for "Bugs Don't Surf".  :80:

So I agree with Primarch, do not bet on it being any time soon.
