I do not want to Hijack another thread, so I am creating this one to ask some questions.
Here is the post:
Quote (wargame_insomniac @ 26 April 2006 (10:05)) | Last night I glued together some of the new NAC ships from GZG- they are some seriously nice spaceships. Wonderful detailing and a very coherent looking fleet right the way from Corvettes and Frigates all the way up to Superdreadnoughts and Fleetcarriers. |
I have always liked GZG stuff. I have a small NAC fleet myself.
Just curious, what Fighters are you using?
Also, how did you base the fighters? Counts per base etc.

Quote (vanvlak @ 26 April 2006 (12:28)) | Er - what's a NAC? | Sorry, it stands for New Anglian Confederation . This is one of the major super powers in the Tufflyverse. This background and miniatures come from GZG's line of games: Full Thrust, Stargrunt, and Dirtside.
Hope this helps.

I always used printed counters. That way I can stack.

In case you... or anyone else for that matter... is interested in the background for the setting this is a good place to start:
Tufflyverse
Another good example of Near Future Sci-Fi IMO.

Thanks for the infor Dafrca and Heresiarch. Now the interesting question is, should I read it? Or, in other words, what will I end up buying after I do so?
Oh greatm, over here we're stuck right between the FSE and the IF.... I'm emigrating to Switzerland.

You will only buy what you need, right?

I used a bunch of small GZG fighters, mounted in pairs on the reverse side of a bunch of old square Epic bases. Counters just never did it for me! There is room on each base for one of thoise tiny dice which shows how many fighters are left in the squadron

Also, how did you base the fighters? Counts per base etc. | I use a heep of GZG fighters for my BFG games. I also use the GZG spider bases. These are very nice, with a central pillar and six 'arms' to mount a fighter on. They look very good, and the arms can be bent or even removed to vary the bases.

Orignally I mounted my Full Thrust fighters on wires attached to square bases. Bit of a pain to say the least.
I have since moved on to the flying bases supplied by Brigade Models:
http://www.brigademodels.co.uk/Frames/S ... -7001.html
I use a small D6 placed in the centre to keep track of the actual number of fighters. You also require only three miniatures to represent a unit rather than six. This effectively doubles the number of units that you can make up.

These Bases would mean I get six bases from one set of six fighters. Or if I wanted, I could mount them three to the base and stil be fine.

The Brigade Model stand fits to the top of the flying base stand so would complement that well Daf and still give you a massed feeling

I take it then that DLD is finally back in business?
Thanks.
