Hi!
Hell, I am going to do my own thing and put a force together using the older lists. Thanks guys.
|
In the long run, I think Epic A is better served if a large fan base of material like alternate army lists with more fluff can be produced or even showcased in the epic magazine. I think it would be a mistake for GW to try to limit this sort of creativity. The more gamers adapt the game to their tastes by modifications and tweaks the more acceptance the game will have. I hope GW can implement this idea.

Quote (nealhunt @ 08 2003 July,15:03) | I may even be tempted to write up a Thousand Sons fan list. |
I've never played with or against chaos, but I would be interested in these.
I am finishing off my 1K sons army for 40K, and I like to try and have an Epic force of my 40K ones.
Do you have any ideas for it? How about all the marine stands having an invulnerable save or something?

OK. So now I am confused again - a fairly normal state for me.
How many army lists will there be?
Black Legion Legion of the Damned Marine lists for the four powers - World Eaters, Thousand Sons, Death Guard, Emperors Children
So, if I want to put together a Marine Slaanesh force that is not Emps Kids, I should use the Black Legion list?
And if I want to do a Khorne force with lots of Daemon engines and cultists - legion of the damned?
And for the project that I am working on now (which will be on my site and I will send it to the netzine) I will just make stuff up! ?

A number of people on the E:A forum had also expressed interest in the Iron Warriors legion some time back and had worked on a list, but I'm not sure how far they progressed. ?Now this may be just wishful thinking on my part, and I'm not trying to start any rumors or anything, but I think Jervis had also commented on this specific legion and the possibility it left open for various seige engine type miniatures. ?But, I guess we'll have to wait and see what actually traspires.

Well guys, don't overract ! It (Chaos) is still very much a work in progress and make your thoughts known to J.J. ! It may or may not help, but you all know what I'm going to say next - If the rules don't have who or what you want - change it. How often do you play League or Tournament Games ? You can have Khorne allied with Slann (?)! I'm sure no one is going to care what you do in the privacy of your game room. Hell, we still have Squats (both Chaos and Imperial) and Jervis or the =][= has yet to pay us a visit ...

Legion: Just so you know, it appears as if no one is playtesting the Chaos list anymore because it is so unbalanced. It's a low priority for Jervis since Nids and Eldar were moved up the schedule. I suspect he will do a big revamp (again) in a couple months.
Right now, he seems to be concentrating on making the final touches to the SM, IG, and Ork lists, as well as some minor rule tweaks. They need to go to the printer in September. Nids are a second-tier priority.
Anyway, when Jervis starts up Chaos stuff again, I plan on making a big pitch for some changes I want to see.

Well that makes sense, based on the production schedule, but like I said before, sometimes it appears they throw some things out to see if it will "fly". ?And I have no problem with anyone coming up with their own army list(s). ?We are still using modified SM1 TO&Es, so as I have said previously, do what works for you ! ?And then let Jervis know. ?As far as Kitty, I don't think we should mention her, I feel it offends some of the other guys on the forum, so I plan to try to stay on topic ... 'nuff said. ?

As far as I was concerned it was an amusing running joke, and still is.
Plus who can resist having a dig at you every now and again L4? Certainly not I!

Also, once Jervis returns to Chaos I will join Neal in asking for a few changes I think it needs

dafrca: What do you want to see changed? If we can hash it out, we can start out with a somewhat united front when it comes back around.

I am at work and thus do not have my notes with me. The things that I recall off the top of my head:
CSM formations seemed to be slightly too large.
I was unhappy when Jervis removed the Lord of Battles from the list.
I think the Cultist made nice ablative armour and need to return *in the list* not just as a seperate army.
These are the things I can pull off the top of my mind.
