I do not think it is an issue. Of course I have Broad Band so it does not hurt me too much.

There is no problem with the banner for me... and people can turn off images in their view via their profile.

Unfortunately, you cant link through the picture, as HTML is disabled. You could try using the 'URL' board tag, but I am not sure whether it will work.
