I just recieved BFG Mag #15, and I was wondering if anyone else has converted the Battlebarge. I have one with launch bays and called it an Assault barge.

G'day Cent! I'm still waiting for #15...
I have a chaos conversion that has been in progress for about 3 years (read 2.9 years untouched!). I have added tentacles, a chaos BB bridge, chaos turrets etc.
I keep thinking of bits to add so one day I might get around to actually painting it!

As promised!
Its a WIP, main bits are the aft Chaos style bridge and the chaos tentacle mutation. Imperial eagles have been removed and chaos turrets added. I keep thinking of new bits to do so it has been a slow process!

I'll get around to painting/mounting one day but have had a dillema as to how to paint it. I converted some strike cruisers for the Death Guard and added some growth and general mankyness , but think I want this one Chaos undivided. Maybe Black or Alpha legion...

Tas,
Very nice, the tentacles look like the old chaos titan whips.

Indeed they are. Thank you. It was some years ago.
Ironically, I don't have any chaos titan bits left for a Warlord conversion now! The sad irony of it all...

I porbably won't be doing any Battlebarge conversions in some time, but I'm pretty sure that chern, my friend, has done one. He has been modelling the ENTIRE Dark Angels SM Chapter with BFg, Epic, and 40k. He's ambitious. He's already built all the Terminators and their associated Land Raiders. I think he has at least two or three other companies built already as well.
I play BFG with my Necron, Imperial Navy and Ork fleets.
But, back to the question, I'll check with him next time I see him (maybe I should better E-mail him... ) and see about some photos of his conversion.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
P.S. Tas, Wonderful conversion. My compliments to you. The tentacles are an old chaos arm accessory bit.

Chris,
Maksim, Do you mean the entire DA Chapter? (You said company) |
Yes, that's exactly what I meant! Thanks, Chris! I knew that I needed another word, but I just couldn't think of it at the time. I have since gone back and edited the post.
Mazel tov on the entire Ultra Chapter.
That's a lot of building! At least they're blue and relatively easy to paint compared to other chapters.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Ok, I don't know what Mazel tov means..., but thanks anyway!!!
It was a LOT of building, it took me a few months of on and off work.
If anyone would like me to post a photo I can dig out my digi-cam for it?
Cheers, Chris.

Chris,
Ok, I don't know what Mazel tov means..., but thanks anyway!!! |
Mazel tov means: congratulations or good luck or blessings upon you. Literally it means: Mazel = luck, fortune, blessing Tov = good
So shlimazel is bad luck. Shli = bad Mazel = luck, fortune, blessing (really a curse in this case)
It was a LOT of building, it took me a few months of on and off work. |
I'm sure it was a lot of work. A whole chapter is a lot of stands. Exactly how many stands did you build?
If anyone would like me to post a photo I can dig out my digi-cam for it?
Yes please.
Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
