Hi y'all!

I've just received my Tyranids that I won on eBay. There's a whole load of 'Nid mini's as well as a mish mash of Chaos and Eldar stuff.

Anyway, in this mass of Epic gear there are some Malefactors and Dactilys(i?). What units could I use them as? I've noticed that these guys aren't in the 'Nid army list. I was thinking the Dactilysi could be used as Exocrines - the BP version and the Malefactors as Haruspex(i?).

What do you reckon?

Also, what do you think the Vituperator and Hierodule look like? I think I may be wanting to have a go at creating those guys with some GreenStuff!!! :p

For the Vituperator, we are doing conversions using the old Heirodule body (the littler of the biotitans, in case I got the name backwards) with the head of a Dominatrix and whatever wing bits look about the right size.   A couple of claws finishes the look.

It takes some green stuff to make it look right, but the overall effect is of a substantially larger Harridan and it looks perfect in the 4-5DC range.

I've been thinking of converting 40K gaunts to Heirodules (or carnifexes: I'm still not sure which would best suit the size of the gaunt mini). ?Shouldn't take more than some repositioning and a few GS plates.

They're the right sort of size for Heirodules, and don't require a great deal of conversion work to look good as Scythed Heirodules - that said, the 40k Termagant body (instead of the 'leaping' Hormagaunt one), when fitted with the relevant weapons, tends to look more lumbering and solid when compared to Epic infantry.

I may have to get hold of some Wh40K Termagaunts and see what they're like. Might be somewhere to start with a converted Dominatrix...

Incidentally, what would you suggest using for a Ravener? The ForgeWorld Rippers look like a good thing but are likely to be too big?

If they are the same size as GW rippers then there are too big.

They stand slightly higher than warriors and are very bulky, but they work until GW makes proper raveners for me to buy.

As to the Heirodules, Termigaunts work very well.  They arn't bulky enough, but look like DC3 WEs.

Too make mine look less like 40k gaunts I repositioned the head, by removing the next section and pinning the head coming right out of the torso.

Is there no way to convert Raveners out of any existing Epic minis?

Here you go. I wasted my time at work finding this for you (sigh).

Tepoc hasn't been around much, but all props to him for this.

Actually Jesse just cut the wings of a sheep load of extra Gargoyles he had and used them as Raveners mounted three to a stand.

I bought a whole bag of kids plastic ant (Maksim came up with this one) lopped off the back legs, makes a fine Ravener it does.

Jaldon :p
