And any job that lets you "play" with lasers has to be a good one. :D

You're welcome, H - and that IS true - part of my reason for being where I am in fact. I put it in exactly the same way ?:D ?:D ?:D

Perhaps surprisingly, I dont necessarily see the lack of Epic in the FW06 catalogue as any indication of a reduction in support.

I would simply say that they have made a decision to keep pages down in order to keep it free, that Epic players generally know what is available and dont use the paper version so much anyway, and that people who dont play Epic are less likely to say 'oohh, look at those 6mm minis, I want some of those'.

Now if they only made more terrain for epic as well...

I am curious what 6mm sci-fi terrain would you like to see made? ?More buildings from complete to blown up ones? ?Other more specific stuff? ?I have always wanted more terrain. ?There are other companies out there that produce 6mm terrain but it generally has the more modern clean look and does not match well.

I'd like to see a wide range of race-specific buildings: Ork pueblos, tau domes and towers, Eldar Exodite silos and homesteads - that sort of thing.

Whole city blocks could be done, too, in much the same way that buildings in 40k are done. Of course, some massive hive walls would be neat as well, but I doubt they would sell.

Personally I'd like to see some larger sized "generic" terrain pieces with a decent amount of detail on them.

Perhaps not quite the size of the FW Epic Cathedral but somewhere 1/2 to 2/3 the size.

Industrial complexes, "spaceport" facilities, etc...

Perhaps even some plantetary defense style fortifications. Surface to orbit missile silos, particle beam emplacements and the like.

I've always been half tempted to try replicating the ion gun and planetary shield generators from The Empire Strikes Back for use in 6mm games.

And speaking of terrain... check this out:

Neat!

Individually you'd probably be correct CS... it's when taken as a whole that disturbs me.

Items taken out of production by FW, the reduction in the release schedule by SG, etc...

Only time will tell I though suppose... and given GW can't seem to make a decision that lasts longer than a year or two before they change their minds who really knows.

I actually have a friend thats a graphic artist for a monument company. In other words she designs tombstones and the like for a living.

The company she works for is actually located right next to a company that uses lasers to "mill" material into whatever shape and size their clients need.

I got the chance to watch tombstones being cut to shape with the lasers one time and I have to say anything that can burn through 6" thick granite at that kind of speed is damn impressive.

Now if the lasers were only portable...

Doug/DRM ... if we make suggestions, may make more 6mm terrain ... 6mm with G/W and F/W a very, very, very, low priority it seems to me ... ???

Primarch

I finally remembered what site I had seen the 6mm Ork and Imperial terrain on... the quality is... umm, lets just say very 1980s but the ork buildings may mod out better than the Imperial ones do.

http://www.pegasushobbies.com

Imperial - 5402 Epicopolis

Ork Buildings - Orkopolis & Orkingrad Tank Factory

Well... if they meant that the hobby was games workshop games?

Actually they do. They changed from term "wargaming hobby" to "Games Workshop Hobby" years ago.  :80:

Good grief! She's just what GW need for Imperial Gothic designs!
And yes, lasers CAN be impressive. Ours can cut 20mm steel plate. And it IS portable - if you own a Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, or a C-17, at any rate.....
The fact that it needs close to 100kW of power and a couple of huge chillers does NOT help.  :(

As for buildings - industrial stuff, of course! And not only human industrial stuff, but alien designsa as well. And cranes. And trains. And bridges.

I like the idea of alien terrain. I do get tired of the Gothic look.

One thing I noticed about the terrain FW does make is that it only "sort-of" matches with the plastic ruins from E:40k. Mainly, If you combine the two, then you have pristine buildings next to bombed-out ones, and it doesn't quite look right. That makes me think that it would be useful if FW main some prefab based for the plastic ruins. Also, whatever alien terrain that gets made should have equivalent "destroyed" versions.
